Kit, David, Gina and the baby spend the night with Bette and Tina. Bette finally convinces Angie to come home with them so they can have Christmas morning together. She promised they would go back to Peggy’s for brunch.

Bette and Tina get Gina, David and the baby settled in one of the guestrooms and Kit in the other. They put Angie to bed and head to their bedroom. Bette notices Tina’s quiet mood.

“Hey Tee, are you OK?”

“Yeah. I’m fine. Just a little tired. I guess I’m also feeling a little contemplative after spending the evening with Katie and being surrounded by all the kids.”

“Yeah. I know what you mean. After spending a day like today, it makes me want another child more than ever. Katie really is beautiful, isn’t she?”

“She is. Angie seemed to take to her very quickly. I hope that’s a good sign that she’ll be as welcoming to a brother or sister.”

“A year ago, I might not have thought so, but I think she has really grown to like the idea of having other kids around. You saw how hard it was for us to get her to come home tonight.”

“Yeah. What did it cost you?”

“Who says it costs me anything?”

“I know our daughter and I know you.”

“OK other than promising to bring her back there tomorrow I told her we would invite Sophie, and Jang Yin to spend a few days with us here.”

“I think that’ll be fun. She hasn’t done any sleepovers since we moved.”

“That’s true. I guess we need to get to know some of the parents of the friends at her new school so we can start doing more of that. With Sophie and Jang Yin so far away and Suzie and Jackie living on the other side of town she doesn’t really have any other kids close by.”

“She doesn’t seem to mind. If we leave it up to her she would spend all her time with Peggy.”

“They really have bonded in a special way, haven’t they? I guess no matter what Peggy was destined to be Angie’s grandmother.”

“What do you mean by that?”
