Butterflies in the Stomach

Somehow, someway I get the egg-shell pieces out of the egg slime and begin to beat the eggs in the bowl.
”You’re going to beat them till tomorrow if you keep that pace,” Tina points out, suddenly coming to stand by my side.
I look at her and detect mocking mischief in her eyes as she’s struggles not to laugh.
I turn back to my task with a hair flip. Quickening the pace, I answer back to her, ”An old fox needs not to be taught tricks, so you go mind you own business, blondie.”
She giggles and remains standing where she is. In fact, too close for my liking. I mean, my liking likes her closeness just fine. It’s the energy coming off her, the intensity of her gaze on me that is not…not quite convenient at this very moment.
I release my breath slowly when she steps aside to light the stove, put the pan on it and begins heating the butter.
”Come on, pour in the eggs,” she encourages.
I do as she says. ”How long should we fry it?”
She holds up her index finger, indicating to wait. I glance between her and the pan for some time before she masterly pushes the set parts of the omelette into the uncooked centre of the omelette.
”Do that again in two minutes or so,” she instructs and goes to put butter into the refrigator.
I watch as the eggs gain a slight yellow-gold hue slowly. To speed up the process I increase the heat to high. The omelette gains more color.
”Bette, why didn’t you say you have cheese?” Tina asks a few moments later.
I raise my gaze at her, she’s inspecting a packet in her hands.
”Um, I dunno,” I shrug and walk up to her. ”Is cheese needed too?”
”Well yeah, it’s one of the ingredients I usually use for an omelette.”
”Well, you didn’t say anything about cheese.”
”Because I thought you didn’t have it, since you only mentioned ham.”
”But you could ask.”
She rolls her eyes. ”You were particularizing what you had in your fridge, why did you only mention ham and left out cheese?”
”Firstly, because it didn’t draw my attention, and secondly, I had no clue you needed cheese, alright?” I explain, growing indignant.

Hi Valerie:
That was wonderful chapter; your stories always lift my mood, what a nice and humorous afternoon at Bette’s apartment; that was really hilarious, I love this story; indeed, though being almost the opposite one of the other, I love both of your stories.
I think Bette is lost, she is totally infatuated for Tina, and I think she is going to keep falling more and more for her.
They come from so different worlds and, as when they talked about their hairs, each of them feels attracted to some aspect of the other, I’ll say they may complement each other. I like that Tina is looking at Bette in a friendly way, maybe more than that, she mentioned about her beauty and her body; which lead me to think Tina already ‘checked’ on the brunette.
Careful Bette the best hunter can also be hunted.
What a great chapter, please Valerie, update soon, I’ll be eagerly waiting for the updates of your stories

Great story with good humor. I laughed a lot. It’s a pity there’s no sequel.
