“Wait, who is Mary Kay Letourneau?” Kit interrupted.
“The schoolteacher who had the affair with the 13-year-old student.”
“Oh great. She went to jail.”
“Yes, but she’s out now and she and Vili are married with like three kids.”
“No way” Kid was stunned at that revelation.
“Yes way. It’s a happy ending and I will wait for you while you’re in jail.” He smiled like an innocent child, and Kit just huffed.
They were silent for a few minutes, then Angus made his closing argument. “I think it’s meant to be Kit. Why are you fighting me?”
“I don’t think you really know what you’re getting yourself into. You don’t know me Angus. You don’t know anything about me.” Kit said putting her head down and wringing her hands.
Angus got off the stool once again invading her space as he stood between her legs and lifted her chin so she could look him in the eye.
“I know you’re gorgeous. I know I like you a lot. I know that when you sing it makes …” he hesitated “what’s that weird thing in a man’s throat?” he asked touching his own.
“an Adam’s Apple” Kit responded
“Right, when you sing it makes my Adam’s Apple do like a Mexican hat dance.”
Kit laughed at his silliness. She understood he was trying to lighten the mood, but this was serious business. She sighed heavily as she revealed the truth behind her fears that had little to do with age.
“Well did you know that I’m an ex-drunk?” Kit asked forgetting that her drinking problem was written about in social media. Anyone that Googled her knew this about her.
“Kit, I know you had a hit record in 1992 and then lost yourself in a downward spiral of men and booze, but that’s ancient history. Now you have a thriving business where you serve liquor every day and all you ever drink even outside of business hours is lemon-flavored Pellegrino.
I know you have a loving family that supports you, and a beautiful niece that squeals every time you come into a room. I trust her judge of character, and you should too.” Angus smirks knowing that Angie adored him.

Oh, I always liked Kit with Angus….menopause! Oh, yea…..I remember it well. The hot flashes particularly…the heat starts deep in your core and the spreads through your body like a volcanic eruptions – last a few minutes and you sitting there wondering where the hell did that come from? After two or three you realize what is happening.
Nice chapter…. romance between Melvin and Peggy? Wow…who knew? I was wondering who you would have escort Tina down the isle. Good choice!

May i ask you about Kit and Angus – really? Don’t you think that age difference between them too large? How much – 20-25 years? And with older woman and younger man (we know that in generally men have more sexual relationship, than women.) So 30 years man and 55 years woman – i just can’t see them in long period.
According to this story its 15 years….Once you are an adult, I think that is up to you who you want to date. Will there be problems? More than likely but in this case, its the younger person going after the older one. I have a lot more problem with older folks trying to entice younger ones. That to me feels like one cannot accept their age and want a sweet young thing. At least they are not hiding anything from each other. So if both are willing, why not!
Maybe in this story Angus 40 or nearly years old than.
In TLW i must say their story – it’s one of most believable story in this show for me (usually relationship like this ended with younger half cheated with person their age)
Menopause in most women happens in their late 40s and early 50s. For me it was age 50. So that would make Angus 35? So when Kit is 65, Angus will be 50. When Kit is 75, Angus will be 60. And when Kit passes on, Angus will still be able to marry again.
In love, there are always risk that it will not turn out the way you would like. But if you see the risk as being worthwhile, then you go for it. For you never know, it could just work out!
