Never Say Never Chapter 1
Bette looked to Alice just as the blonde rolled her eyes and looked away before finishing the last of her apple.
Bette sighed as she looked back at Candace, “I can’t I’m sorry. I have band practice today with Alice and the others. Maybe another time?”
Candace pursed her lips before she smiled softly and leaned up on her tip toes to give the taller brunette a sweet kiss on the lips, “You’re lucky you’re hot. I’m just gonna shower before I leave if that’s cool”
Bette nodded and watched as Candace walked back into the bedroom and shut the door.
“Wow” Alice said as she swallowed the last of her apple and threw the core of it into a nearby trash bin, “Candace? Really Bette? I mean you’ve done some stupid shit in your life but she is by far the dumbest thing”
Bette rolled her eyes, “Oh and you’re one to talk? If I remember correctly you’ve been there doing all that dumb shit right along with me. Plus, Candace isn’t really a big deal so step off it”
“Not a big deal?” Alice laughed incredulously, “Oh, I can’t wait until Kit finds out you fucked one of her bartenders. We’ll really see how much of a big deal it really is then”
Bette stuffed the remainder of her apple into her best friend’s mouth, “She’s not gonna find out ‘cause you’re not gonna tell her”
Alice pulled the apple out of her mouth, “Okay, you’re right I won’t but still. I meant what I said earlier. You better keep all that” She gestured her hand up and down the length of Bette’s body, “Away from my little sister”
The brunette couldn’t help but laugh despite the twinge of hurt she felt.
“You afraid I’ll have her hooked on the old Porter charm?”
Alice pursed her lips at her smirking friend, “You better not have her hooked on anything or I’ll kick your ass”
Bette laughed again as she held her hands up in surrender, “Take it easy, killer. I’m not gonna go after your sister”
Alice scoffed as she ate the rest of Bette’s apple, urging the brunette to grow more serious. Bette was a lot of things. She took what she wanted and did as she pleased but she would never cross that line. Especially not with Alice. Aside from her older sister Kit, Alice was the only other person in her life that she actually cared about. Bette would never risk anything to jeopardize her friendship with Alice.

Interesting beginning. I am glad that you are doing a new story!
Bette and Tina as friends op only, we will see that, Bette has already the hots for Tina and she will never succeed to stay away from Tina and keep her promise to Alice.
So Brenda is the lady that Tina has a big crush on. That isn’t a big surprise.
Let saturday come fast.
Thanks for the update!
Interesting story.
You have my attention.
10 stars.
It’s interesting to hear them as much younger than when we ‘met’ them on the show.
I read in your author’s notes that you began with an idea for a story based on your enthusiasm over the film, “Girltrash”, and are working in the L Word characters that you like so much into your idea. That’s certainly a good way to get your writer’s block out of the way, and give your characters a framework to move through the scenes and whatever plot you’ve decided upon for your stories. Framing a plot is key, and as you know gives you the story beats to hit as you write.
Often, when I plot a story, I know I’ll never get to the heart of it in one chapter and lately it’s taken me three chapters to arrive at the finale. For me, this happens because I’m constantly enriching their back story, a very fun place to be creatively in fanfiction, if not perhaps the heart of it, as I’ve discovered.
These chapters on The Way to the climax I enjoy dreaming up their musings and anxieties, which these characters have in spades. Your kitchen scene gave a reflection of how you are seeing Alice and Bette.
I find writing Bette, and endless amusing exercise, and have taken her into amusing and dark places. She’s a complex character that isn’t only about her libido. And you have written her in a comical, good way, but do give her some depth, because on the page she can definitely take it.
My wishes of success for you as you continue to write and experiment with your ideas.

Hope to see this story continued! Like all your stories, this one seems amazing as well.
