    Chapter 10

She shrugs and has a sip of wine, and Tina smiles at her.

They finish their wines and wave over a waiter to settle their bill. He arrives back at the table a short while later and places it between them, and Bette looks to Tina.

(Bette) I don’t want the money back, but I’m pretty sure you can get the bill

Tina laughs and reaches towards it, and Bette smiles as she watches her.

They slowly make their way back to Oia, taking the opportunity to further explore the coast and stopping to take in the view at various lookouts along the way.

They arrive back in the evening and decide to get a light dinner at a nearby bar. They sit together at the bar and share some small dishes, and then sit back and share a bottle of wine.

At one point later in the evening, Tina is returning from the bathrooms and slows her pace as she sees Bette speaking with a man standing alongside her and casually leaning his hand on the back of her barstool. She smiles as she takes in Bette’s exasperated expression, and she makes her way over.

Tina approaches Bette from the other side and runs her hand over her back. Bette turns to her and raises her eyebrows and they smile at each other.

(Tina) Do you feel like dancing baby?

Bette’s smile broadens and Tina takes a step back and holds out her hand. Bette takes it and stands from the barstool, glancing to the man as they begin to move away.

(Bette) You’ll have to excuse me, I need to dance with my wife

They make their way to the dance floor together and both smile as they turn to face one another. They step closer and move their arms around each other.

(Tina) Your unapproachable vibe is failing you again

Bette gives a small laugh and pulls her closer, and they fall into silence as they move together slowly to the music. Tina eventually breaks the silence.

(Tina) You know, you still haven’t asked me anything about myself

Bette smiles into her neck and runs a hand down Tina’s back.

(Tina) I’ve admitted being a thief. You don’t have any follow up questions about that?

    1. I believe Bette is in this for something other than a financial reward. I think that she is incredibly attracted to Tina and wants her in her life. But, the only way that can happen is to put the stolen money aside and just be with Tina in the moment. No plans, no objectives, just enjoy what is and hope there will be more. And when Tina feels that Bette is not a threat, she too will want the same thing.

Great story… thank you for the posting.

    2. Interesting turn of events.

Still feel that Tina is holding back and only in this for the short term.

Hopefully Bette can convince her to consider them being together.

      Thanks for the update.

    3. I’m wondering how committed Tina is to develop a relationship with Bette. She doesn’t appear to want to provide any info to Bette while Bette seems to be interested in starting a relationship.

      Just wondering.

      Great writing.
