(Bette) Hmmm, maybe we should get up

(Tina smiles) Probably a good idea

(Bette) Shall I make us coffees?

(Tina nods) Sounds great

They make their way to the kitchen and Bette puts a coffee on the stove as Tina takes a seat at the island bench.

(Bette) I could cook us up something for breakfast?

(Tina) Thanks but I’m OK with cereal and toast, if that suits you

(Bette smiles) Sure

Bette arranges their breakfast and places the items on the bench.

(Tina) Are you going into the gallery today?

(Bette nods) Yes, I have a meeting at 10, so I don’t need to rush off but I’ll aim to arrive in plenty of time for that

Tina nods and has a sip of her coffee as Bette takes a seat diagonally opposite her.

(Bette) Sorry, I’d reschedule if I could. I’d prefer to spend the time with you

Tina smiles and touches her affectionately on the forearm.

(Tina) It’s fine, I’m glad we’ve been able to spend the time together we’ve managed so far

Bette smiles at her.

(Tina) And I have my next therapy session this afternoon anyway

Tina shrugs and Bette looks at her.

(Bette) Should we be expecting a breakthrough?

Tina smiles and shakes her head.

(Tina) No, she’s still building up to it. I’m not really sure of the exact timing for what she has planned, but it won’t be today

Bette nods and has a sip of coffee.

(Tina sighs) I actually think she’s as freaked out as any of us by what’s happened. I imagine she’s furiously researching between appointments

(Bette frowns) Do you trust her? We could try and find someone else if you’re not sure

(Tina smiles) She’s fine. I did some research and her name kept coming up as the leading expert to see, so I think it’s best to stick with her

(Bette) OK

Tina reaches for a newspaper sitting on the bench.

(Tina) Alice said no one reads these anymore, it’s all online?

(Bette smiles) Well she’s right, but I still like to

Tina nods as she scans the front page. She glances at Bette and smiles.

(Tina) I think I’d still like to too
