    Chapter 11

(Angelica) Since when do you have a key?

Tina pauses while holding the key in the lock, and looks over at her.

(Tina) Oh. Um, well your Mom gave it to me, just to have while all of this is going on

    (Angelica frowns) Why?

(Tina) We just thought it might be useful, but I’ll give it back to her

Tina feels Angelica’s eyes on her as she continues unlocking the door and pushes it open.

Tina and Angelica make their way through the house and Bette hears them enter and makes her way towards them from the kitchen. They meet in the hallway and all slowly come to a stop, Tina and Bette both watching Angelica closely as she looks shyly to Bette. Tina places her hand on Angelica’s back and speaks to her gently.

(Tina) Ange take your time if you want, this is all just about whatever you feel comfortable with

Angelica and Bette continuing looking at each other and Angelica then takes a few tentative steps towards her. When she reaches her she wraps her arms around Bette’s waist and holds onto her tightly, leaning her head into Bette and closing her eyes. Bette’s eyes glisten as she moves her arms around Angelica’s back and holds her close, holding Angelica’s head against herself and also closing her eyes. They hold that position and eventually Bette opens her eyes and looks to Tina, who is watching on with tears gathering. They both get lost in the other’s eyes and take deep breaths as they hold each other’s gaze. Tina then takes a step towards them and Bette opens an arm, wrapping it around Tina as she pulls her into the embrace, and Tina buries her head into Bette’s neck.

A short while later, they are all settled in the kitchen together. At Angelica’s request, and with Tina’s OK, Bette has spent some time taking Angelica through the medical details relayed to her by her doctors, and they have now all turned their attention to preparing dinner.

Angelica is sitting at the bench preparing a salad as Bette and Tina both move through the kitchen organising the rest of their meal. She watches them both moving comfortably around the kitchen, and looks to Tina as she approaches the bench with a chopping board.

    1. What an interesting turn in this very intriguing story, katynd. Angie’s observations and what she knows about both her parents’ recent and past feelings to each other are important pieces of the puzzle. Hopefully, we’ll find out what really happened between Bette and Tina before the accident and if there’s a chance those hurts can eventually heal and they can rebuild their present-day relationship. I loved Bette and Angie’s wordless but very emotional reunion and Tina joining the emotional family hug.❤ Thank you so much for this lovely, well-written gem, katynd!❤ I don’t even remember the last time I was able to leave a comment to any of your stories but please know that I always read your stories and look out for a new chapter. Before I checked out this latest chapter, I was enjoying rereading “Political Persuasion”. God, I love that story!❤ So many thanks again and enjoy the rest of the day, katynd!:)

      • Couldn’t have said it better!

I’m dying to know what happened that Bette is supposed to hate Tina.

Although Bette seems to hate Tina for a long time if we have to believe Tina and their friends, she told Angie a lot about their early years, so the love has been buried deep but never went away.

I really hope that when Bette get her memory back they can rebuild their friendship and their relationship.

    2. I didn’t expect that relavation at all! Wow. So Tina keeps her true feelings to herself because she thinks Bette doesn’t like her, Bette tells everyone that she hates Tina. Seems like Angie and Bette have a lot to talk about. I hope that Angie will give Bette more insights to why she “officially” pretends to have moved on from Tina. Maybe she can tell her about her absent girlfriend as well.
Angie could be the key to change her mother’s relationship for the better. Love it!

I’m repeating mysef but this version is so so so good. Really can’t wait for the next chapter.
