    Tina looks up and they hold each other’s gaze. (Tina) No, I don’t Bette takes a breath and continues watching her. (Tina) As I said this feels to me like you’re telling me a story of something that happened to someone else. A ridiculous hypothetical. I don’t care about the details, I’m far more interested

    Tina looks up and they hold each other’s gaze.

    (Tina) No, I don’t

    Bette takes a breath and continues watching her.

    (Tina) As I said this feels to me like you’re telling me a story of something that happened to someone else. A ridiculous hypothetical. I don’t care about the details, I’m far more interested in what led to it

    They sit together in silence for a while, both gathering their thoughts.

    (Tina) Is that all of it? The worst of it?

    (Bette) Well, I also kidnapped Angelica when we were all in Canada for Shane’s wedding

    (Tina) Bette

    (Bette) I know

    They look at each other for a moment.

    (Tina) Well what was going on that made you feel like you had to do that?

    (Bette) You were threatening to take her. To keep her from me

    Bette shrugs and Tina looks at her for a long moment.

    (Tina) Sorry baby

    Bette smiles and shakes her head.

    (Bette) You know, that’s the first time you’ve ever said that

    Tina watches her as Bette has a sip of wine.

    (Tina) Is that the worst I did to you?

    (Bette sighs) The worst, yes. But I guess not the only

    (Tina) What else?

    Bette looks at her.

    (Tina) Baby, tell me

    (Bette sighs) I don’t know Tee. You were pregnant when we broke up, but didn’t tell me for a long while. We were together again by the time Angelica was born, but you were still so angry with me I think. We fell apart again. You left me for someone else. You slept with him here. I think probably to hurt me, like I’d hurt you

    Bette shrugs and Tina looks back at her.

    (Tina) And I’m still angry with you? As angry as all that?

    (Bette) It’s different now, maybe. Those issues haven’t come up in years. But yes, Angelica’s right, sometimes it feels like you hate me

    Tina has a sip of wine and stares ahead as she takes this in. She turns back to Bette.

    (Tina) And your anger?

    Bette looks up at her.

    (Tina) It’s all tied up with that? With how I behaved?

    Bette sighs.

    (Bette) I don’t know, really. I don’t reflect on those events very much anymore. But it feels like we just got stuck in it, in our anger and all our resentment of each other. I know everyone expected things to improve over time, but it hasn’t. We just continue to antagonize each other and it’s gotten worse if anything

    1. Finally K! I think Tina had a mental breakdown with all the anger and frustration. They know they loved each other so much. They have to do the work. PPS

    3. Wow, so much anger over events that happened a long time ago. Sometimes it’s easier to hang on the anger.

      Maybe Tina had a mental breakdown like majicspider60 already mentioned.

      Can they work this out after Tina is back in the present, is Bette willing to make a move when Tina doesn’t remember this time if she returns?

    5. I believe Tina is right…. they can work it out whether Tina remembers this relationship during her amnesia or not. The feelings and the desires are there in both instances. It is up to Bette to want to agree to give reconciliation or at least civility a try. Tina has already made movement in that direction… Bette just meet her halfway and talk to her. Find a way to drop the predisposition that she will still be angry. If you Bette make an effort to at least communicate and Tina responds, there is a chance to get over these hurtles. Most of all drop this idea that it cannot be fixed. Maybe it can…. You both need to try. Neither of you have anything to loose by trying…. You have a horrible relationship as it is. Talking can possibly make it better.

It has been the same for so long that Bette feels there is no reason to try to fix all the wrongs between them, but I think she is willing to risk her heart to see Tina back in her life in some capacity as long as it is not hate filled anymore. Hopefully Tina does remember bits or feelings from her time with memory loss, so they can at least try to be better towards each other. Please post soon.
