    Chapter 19

(Bette) No, it’s fine. Of course, she’ll love that

Another staffer enters the room and Bette moves to one side to let them through. Tina takes a folder from them and leans over her desk as she flips through the pages and signs in various places.

(Bette) I actually just wanted to talk to you

    Tina looks up at her.

(Tina) If it’s something about Angie you can tell me now, I have a meeting but I can push it back if it’s important

They hold each other’s gaze for a moment.

(Bette) Don’t do that, it’s not important

Tina looks at her for a moment before her attention is again drawn to the documents in front of her. She signs the final page as she is again reminded of her meeting by someone leaning in the door. She walks to the coatstand and turns to Bette as she slips her jacket on.

(Tina) Well if it can wait just reply to my email, I’ll read it between meetings

Bette nods and takes a step backwards out of the office as Tina moves towards the doorway. Tina answers her cell with an apologetic look to Bette as she moves past her, then continues down the hallway and disappears around a corner with various people following closely behind.

That evening, Tina and Alice sit together in a crowded bar having a wine.

    (Alice) So how’s work?

Tina raises her eyebrows and shakes her head.

    (Tina) Total chaos

    Alice laughs.

(Alice) They missed you a lot then?

Tina sighs and has a sip of wine.

    (Tina) Evidently

    Alice smiles at her.

(Alice) And how’s everything else? How have you been feeling?

    Tina sighs.

    (Tina) Fine really

    Alice looks at her curiously.

(Tina) Honestly Al, I’ve been so fucking busy from the moment I walked out of that therapy session. I haven’t had even a second to think

    Tina shrugs.

(Alice) It must be strange though, losing all that time

    (Tina sighs) Yes, it is

    She looks at Alice.

(Tina) From my perspective I went straight from crawling into your bed on my birthday to the therapy session the other day

    Alice smiles.

(Alice) Yes, there’s usually at least a couple of days between crawling into bed with me and ending up in therapy

    1. My recommendation is to call Tina’s assistant and schedule a 2 hour appointment around lunch time and bring lunch. Have the assistant put a fake name on the calendar and have the assistant hold all calls and no interruptions unless its life or death. Then just talk to her. Tell her what the past few weeks have been like. Win her back… bring her flowers,

Bette needs to turn on the charm… do what she can. If that does not work, then Alice and Shane can just kidnap her and hold her hostage until she talks to Bette.

That part of Tina is still in Tina. She has just buried it and with the right circumstances it can be revived.

      Great story… thank you.

    2. Great two chapters!

Why is it that Bette has to do all the work? Sure, Tina claims not to remember the last weeks but still wasn’t she the one that cried a lot and wanted to change her relationship according to Alice, before Tina thought she lived in 2002?

I find Tina to be rather cold to Bette. They need to sit together, alone and just talk. Hope Alice and Shane come up with a good plan and doesn’t make it worse.
