    Chapter 19

    Bette looks at her.

    (Alice) What’s going on there?

Bette sighs and looks to her wine glass.

    (Bette) Nothing’s going on there

Bette pauses and has a sip of her drink.

(Bette) As predicted she isn’t particularly keen to see me, or speak to me

Alice continues looking at her and sighs.

(Alice) Bette, you’re so different, towards this whole situation. She needs to see that. And you need to spend time together for that to happen

(Bette) Al I can’t force her to see me

    Alice takes a breath.

(Alice) Bette you have to do something here. You want this, I know you do. You need to try

Bette shakes her head and looks away before turning back to Alice.

(Bette) I have tried, I’ve been trying. What am I supposed to do if she doesn’t want to speak to me outside of talking about Angie?

(Alice) Well you know where she lives, go there

(Bette) Alice if I don’t have Angie with me then she’s with her, and I hardly want her there for this

    Alice throws her hands up.

(Alice) Well I don’t know, do something. Anything. If she won’t answer your calls just show up at her work then

(Bette sighs) I did show up at her work, she didn’t mention it?

Alice frowns and shakes her head.

    (Alice) No, she didn’t

(Bette) Well she basically forced me out the door and told me to send her an email

Bette shrugs and they both look back at her.

    (Alice) Jesus

    Bette looks at her phone.

(Bette) Look I need to run. I’ll see you both soon

    They both nod.

    (Alice) OK bye

Shane smiles at her as Bette turns to leave.

Alice and Shane sit in silence for a moment and both have a sip of their drinks. Alice sighs and turns to her.

(Alice) I’ve stayed out of this long enough, I’m fucking doing something

    She points towards Shane.

(Alice) Don’t you even try to fucking stop me

Shane smiles and looks towards her drink before raising her eyes to Alice’s.

(Shane) You know what? For once Al, I’m with you

Alice raises her eyebrows and smiles.

    (Alice) Are you serious?

Shane nods as she has a sip of beer. She places the bottle back on the table and shrugs.

(Shane) I think they might need a little help

(Alice) Oh my God I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited

Shane smiles and points towards her.

(Shane) Don’t make me regret this

    1. OMG……..two updates in five days, woohoo. I cannot believe Shane is going to help Alice. I hope it does not get Bette into deeper shit with Tina. TY, K, for the update.

    2. My recommendation is to call Tina’s assistant and schedule a 2 hour appointment around lunch time and bring lunch. Have the assistant put a fake name on the calendar and have the assistant hold all calls and no interruptions unless its life or death. Then just talk to her. Tell her what the past few weeks have been like. Win her back… bring her flowers,

Bette needs to turn on the charm… do what she can. If that does not work, then Alice and Shane can just kidnap her and hold her hostage until she talks to Bette.

That part of Tina is still in Tina. She has just buried it and with the right circumstances it can be revived.

      Great story… thank you.

    3. Great two chapters!

Why is it that Bette has to do all the work? Sure, Tina claims not to remember the last weeks but still wasn’t she the one that cried a lot and wanted to change her relationship according to Alice, before Tina thought she lived in 2002?

I find Tina to be rather cold to Bette. They need to sit together, alone and just talk. Hope Alice and Shane come up with a good plan and doesn’t make it worse.
