Chapter 19 – The Wilkins and the Prestons

Mary: Well, neither Barbara or Joe decided to announce the Yellowstone trip at dinner. I wonder why?

Bette: They truly have not made up their mind if they are going or not. We will not talk about it until they have made a decision. And I think they are a little over whelmed with the invitation to take John David with us to Scotland in addition to the invitation to go to Yellowstone. They want some time alone to discuss it and to figure out how they feel about it.

Tina: That’s really what I expected. This is their child and they want to measure the pros and the cons to the situation. But I’m sure they will not leave us in the dark for long. I expect that we will get questions from Daniel before the week is out. Oh well, we have extended the invitation and now the rest is up to them.

Bette: Oh, they did agree to having a car pick the boys and Joey up in the afternoon and we will start that on the Monday after Thanksgiving. So, Margaret, at that point, you will be free to come home when you deem your day is done. But you will continue to take John David and Daniel to school in the mornings. And they will continue to have breakfast at school. And you will bring them home on the days they have no activities after school as on Fridays. Now is that all right with you?

Margaret: Its perfect. I enjoy having them in vehicle as I ride to school. Sometimes I wonder if they remember I’m with them.

Tina: They are not discussing anything that is out of line, are they?

Margaret:  No. They are discussing some of their classmates as to why they like them and those they don’t like so much. But its typical talk for boys of that age. Nothing which I think you would be concerned about.

    Bette: Any talk about girls?

Margaret:  Not in a romantic way. Sari Patel’s name comes up a lot. Evidently, she is their friend and their competition for the best grades. They eat lunch together. And I think she takes violin at the same time that Daniel does with another instructor of course. John David is taking piano at that time. They are somewhat known as the golden trio by the staff.
