Chapter 20 – Bringing Angie Home
Bette: Okay girls, let’s everyone reset your watches and your phones as to the time. It is now 9:25 pm Friday evening, Pacific Coast Time.
Suzanne: We just gained three hours. It’s 12:25 am Saturday in New Haven.
Tina: That’s what happens when you travel long distances. You gain or lose hours and it’s very confusing to your body and brain sometime. Travel is sometimes stressful and throw in a time change and you have that which is known as jet lag. So, if you sleep on long trips, you can allow your body to adjust to the change.
Bette: Okay, girls. Do you two want to share a room this week or would you like to have separate rooms? Now if you share a room, you will share a bed. All the bedrooms have one king size bed except for Daniel’s room.
Angie: We can share a room. I’m sure that Suzanne is going have a thousand questions and it would be more convenient to be in the same room. What do you want Suzanne?
Suzanne: I’m flexible. I’ll do whatever. I’m good with sharing a room.
Tina: Okay, we will put you both in Angie’s room. But if you two want a little more privacy, we have another bedroom available.
They arrived at the house and pulled into the alleyway and then to the back door. Angie was looking just as Suzanne was. The house looked somewhat different than when she had seen it the last of August.
Bette: Welcome to your home for the holidays.
The driver carried the bags into the back door while Tina was putting on a pot of coffee. Bette then tipped the driver and escorted him to the back side door. The girls were wide eyed looking around.
Angie: This is so much bigger than I remembered and I love that furniture in the family room.
Suzanne: Wow, what a lovely pool. I hope I remembered to pack my swim suit.
Bette: Come girls, let me show you to your room and let you two get settled. Then you guys can come back down and we will have a snack of some kind.
Tina: Are you guys hungry? I could use something to eat.
Angie: Oh, yeah, but not too heavy.
