Chapter 20 – Bringing Angie Home
Daniel: Angie, you’re here!
He put his stick down and ran to his sister and hugged her. Mary came over and greeted Suzanne.
Mary: Well, hello Suzanne. So nice of you to join us for this holiday. This is Margaret Miller. She is our dear friend, and a part of the household now. This is Suzanne Hale, Angie’s roommate.
Margaret: Nice to meet you, Suzanne. Welcome to Santa Monica.
Suzanne: Nice to meet you,
Mary: How was your flight?
Suzanne: It was wonderful. We had a nice meal and it had these beds and everything was so comfortable and exciting.
Bette: Come on girls, let me show you your room. I need to go help Tina. You can catch up a little later.
Mary: You girls let us know if we can get you anything. Give me a hug Miss Angie. You look so good. School seems to be agreeing with you.
Angie: Thanks Grandma Mary.
Mary: Margaret, this is Bette and Tina’s daughter Angelica Maxine Kennard-Porter.
Margaret: Yes, I can see both Bette and Tina in you. Welcome home. And nice to meet you.
Angie: Nice to meet you. Perhaps Mary, you can give us a house tour a little later. This place looks amazing.
Mary: Well, wait until you see your room. I think you are going to be pleased.
Angie: Well, if it looks as good as what I have seen of this house, I’m sure I will be.
Suzanne had followed Bette and they both were turned and watched Angie interact with Mary, Margaret and Daniel.
Suzanne: Miss Mary and Daniel adore her don’t they.
Bette: Yes, they do. We all miss her. But she is where she needs to be.
Bette then walked over and hugged Daniel and spoked to him while Angie was talking to Mary and Margaret. He then broke away and went out the door toward the stairs. He wanted to see his Mama T.
Bette showed Susanne and Angie to her room. Angie was smitten with the way her room looked. The yellow walls, the floral print bedspread, the dark purple black out drapes, the white shears, a television, a desk, chest of drawers, sitting area for reading or watching television and the splash of greens, yellows, white and purples. Angie then saw the water color painting on the wall. They added so much color and life to the room. And she recognized them immediately as being from the New York apartment.
