Chapter 20 – Bringing Angie Home

Tina:  How about some breakfast sandwiches and some fries? Maybe some fruit?

    Angie:  Oh, that sounds excellent.

Bette:  I’ll take your bags up and show the girls to their room and then I’ll be back to help.

Tina went over and hugged Angie and pushed her hair behind her ear.

Tina: I’m so glad to have you home. I know Daniel will be too. You guys get going. I’ll have your food ready in about 30 to 45 minutes.

Bette: Grab your bags and follow me.

She grabbed hers and Tina’s bags and coats and headed for the elevator. Angie and Suzanne’s bags were on wheels so they pulled them behind them and followed.

Suzanne: You have an elevator in your home?

Bette:  Yes, it was the feature that sold us on the house. It helps in getting luggage and old folks up to the 2nd floor.

Angie: The house looks so good.  It’s amazing what paint and furniture can do for a home.

Bette: Well, we are really please with Jim’s furniture selections and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. And we hope that he is going to put some of his magic on your house in New Haven as well.

Angie: So, you guys actually closed and purchased the house?

Bette: Yes, we did. And you and Suzanne will be flying back with Jim to New Haven so he can get started on the renovations. There is a lot to do in the next few months so that it will be ready for you for next year. So, he is going to start as soon as he can.

Angie:  The same Jim that we met a couple of weeks ago?

Bette:  Yes. That would be the one. I do not know if Dot is going with him on this trip or not. There is room if she decides to go.

Suzanne: So, we will be flying back by private jet rather than a commercial flight?

Bette:  Yes. It should save you about 4 hours of travel time and since Jim is going anyway, why not send all of you on the same plane.

They reached the 2nd floor and Bette took her and Tina’s bag and parked them in the hallway leading to the library. She then led Angie through the doorway to the recreation room. There in the room was Mary, Margaret and Daniel playing a game of pool. They were somewhat startled and then they came running toward Bette and Angie.
