    Chapter 21

    Chapter 21

A short while later, Bette has moved to the couch and Tina makes her way over, handing Bette a glass of wine and taking a seat next to her.

They sit in silence for a moment and both have a sip of wine. Bette turns to Tina.

(Bette) Does Angie know you remember?

Tina looks over at her and shakes her head.

(Tina) No. I haven’t lied to her though, I wasn’t prepared to do that. This has all been confusing enough for her. Thankfully she hasn’t wanted to talk about any of it yet, so that bought me some time

    Bette nods.

(Tina) We should probably get onto that though, once she’s had some time to process

(Bette sighs) Yes, I’ve been worried about her not wanting to talk about it directly

    Bette looks over at her.

(Bette) You might have more luck than I’ve had. She’s missed you a lot, and she’s so happy you’re back

    Tina smiles.

(Tina) It’s been nice spending this week together. Thank you for that

    (Bette smiles) Of course

They fall into silence for another moment, before Bette looks to her.

(Bette) And what’s it like, to remember? Does it feel like it was you? Or like you were watching someone else?

(Tina sighs) Honestly, a bit of both. It’s confusing

    They share a smile.

(Tina) Some parts feel more like a dream, and others very vivid and real. Like it was me there with you

They hold each other’s gaze for a moment. Bette takes a breath and smiles.

(Bette) So, where do we start?

    Tina laughs and shrugs.

    (Tina) I have no idea

Bette smiles at her. They both have a sip of wine and Bette looks over at her, watching her for a moment before speaking.

(Bette) Can I ask why you’ve been so sad recently?

Tina looks back at her and then frowns and looks to her wine glass.

(Tina) It’s all tied up with you

Tina raises her eyes and they look at each other for a moment.

(Tina) I guess I’m just at an age where I’m really reflecting on things, on what I’ve achieved so far and what I want in the future

Tina pauses for a sip of wine.

    1. I like that these two are finally talking. Taking responsibility for their own actions and attitudes and not playing the blame game. That generally gets you no where. I like that they look at the risk which they are taking and decide that the risk possibilities are fair low. And I like that the way forward is just an old fashion date. One step at a time… that is what life is… I have real hope for these two….

      Thankyou for the story…

    2. This is my saving grace since B&T is not on the show. Gosh i can feel the emotions… i can imagine their smiles when their looking at each other. Thanks, K! You’re an amazing writer.

    3. Wonderful chapter!

A honest talk and a date soon. There’s always a risk it couldn’t work out but if you don’t take risks you will never found out. About Angie, maybe they should keep it for themselves that they are trying to build a relationship for awhile. It must be confusing for her, years of not being on good terms and then hop in a relationship. Let’s do a few dates first before they talk with Angie or their friends.

      Really like this story!

    4. katynd,

I love this story, this chapter is excellent. “Let’s find out for fucks sake” Yesss!

My other favorite lines are when Tina told Bette she forgave her for cheating on her, and that it’s time she forgave herself, too. Perfect.

      I enjoy all your stories.
