Chapter 23 – Saturday – Bette and Angie’s Time Together
Bette: Looks wonderful, ladies. Sausage! Haven’t had that in a while.
Tina: Yes, this was getting old and we needed to use it up. Besides, I should stay away from bacon for a couple more days…
Bette: But not sausage?
Tina: It’s a turkey and pork combination with spices. Less fat than regular sausage but it still tastes good.
Bette: Okay…
Tina knew that Bette was being cautious, but she believed that she had survive the salad yesterday and a little pork would be okay.
Bette: Angie have you packed your bag?
Angie: No, I was going to do that after breakfast.
Daniel: Where are you going Angie?
Bette: Angie and I are going to be out and about this afternoon and evening. We thought we would let you take care of your Mama T this evening while we had a little getaway. You were with me alone for five days, now Angie would like to be alone with me for the evening. We will be back before lunch tomorrow. Do you think you can handle that?
Daniel: Well, sure. But I can’t cook.
Tina: We can order something delivered which will be special for us. Or we can take a cab to a restaurant if you would like. We can do a short walk on the beach and maybe see a movie this evening. You and me, bud… we can just hang out together and get caught up on all the things that have been going on.
Bette: Daniel, you just make sure your mom gets her rest and eats her meals. She is still in recovery mode so don’t do much more than walking for about 30 minutes segments. Then you need to rest for at least 30 minutes and walk again. Make sure she gets up the stairs safely. But you guys just have fun. Oh, and she cannot lift anything that is over 5 pounds. And that is for another 2 weeks yet.
Daniel: Can we go out to the movies?
Tina: Sure, we just pretend we are in New York and call a cab. Maybe we will go out to eat and then to the movies and then come home. But I’m going to need a nap this afternoon if we do that.

I didn’t watch season 1 or 2 of Gen Q. Or even had any interest – being a faithful Tibette addict – until your version came out. That being said, I love your work and agree with most of the comments above. Having stooped to watch a few Gen Q episodes, your story can go on from your strong base with the original set of characters! No matter whether there is a season 4 or not. Your material is better by far!
I do have 1 comment on a missed opportunity to “tie” Gen Q back to the original. Both you and the show missed the “copy” or “repeat” of Bette and Tina trapped in a small space with no escape – freezer at the wedding-Gen Q vs elevator when going to therapy session with Foxworthy-in original.
THANKS

Annie,
I do not think that your comment has posted on the correct story as my story has nothing to do with Gen Q…
Thank you.
