Chapter 23 – The Wedding
Jeanette: So, I just need to relax and go with the flow. And all will be revealed.
Tina: Yes. For even if you knew, it’s a little too late to make any substantial changes. And you wouldn’t make any changes anyway. You agreed to let Paris make your honeymoon arrangements and she has in full Porter style has done so. And if you don’t have the right wardrobe, then you can have a shopping spree.
Jeanette: Yeah, I could couldn’t I. But I think I have the right clothes. Paris was rather specific as to the type clothes that I would need. And I watched her pack and she’s taking the same type clothing as I am.
Tina: You look beautiful. Now, where is your dress?
Tina went and got the dress out of the dress bag and hung it on the door and commented on how beautiful it was. It was far more formal than what they had originally talked about. Tina asked if Paris knew that it was a formal gown. Jeanette said that yes, she knew and Paris decided to have a more formal gown as well. They planned to change before dinner and have less formal clothes for the evening as they wanted to dance and they didn’t want to dance in their bridal gowns. But they could change their minds.
Bette had driven directly to the Gallery. Paris had set up her office as a dressing room. Her gown was hanging in a bag on the door. She had finished her make-up and was finishing up her hair. Paris’s hair was long and straight. It was a beautiful dark brown with some auburn streaks in it. Paris was now in her mid-forties and had had long hair since grade school. She had decided to have the top layer of her hair braided in two thick braids and intertwined in the back and lay over the skirt of long hair draped over the back of her head. This would allow her face to be fully visible and gave a more formal look. And it was a style that did not take a lot of time.
Bette: Paris, are you okay? Are you ready to get married to Jeanette?
Paris: I am more than ready. I want this Bette, beyond anything else I have ever wanted in my life, I want Jeanette Miller as my wife.
