    (Tina) Ah, no. Give me a second Bette keeps her eyes closed and listens curiously as Tina moves around the room. Tina finishes tidying up and then takes a seat alongside Bette. (Tina) OK, you can open them Bette opens her eyes and looks around the room, and then focuses back on Tina, looking at

    Bette keeps her eyes closed and listens curiously as Tina moves around the room. Tina finishes tidying up and then takes a seat alongside Bette.

    (Tina) OK, you can open them

    Bette opens her eyes and looks around the room, and then focuses back on Tina, looking at her apprehensively. Tina smiles at her.

    (Tina) It’s nothing bad, what I need to tell you. It’s big , but, well…

    Tina shrugs and smiles.

    (Tina) It’s wonderful actually

    Bette nods as she continues looking at her uncertainly.

    (Bette) OK

    Tina takes a breath.

    (Tina) Bette we have a daughter

    Bette raises her eyebrows, looking back at her in silence for a long moment.

    (Bette) We?

    (Tina smiles) Yes we have a daughter. Together . She’s 12, and her name is Angelica

    Bette takes a breath and a broad smile comes over her face, and Tina smiles as she watches her.

    (Tina) She’s just incredible Bette. Just…

    Tina raises her eyebrows and smiles.

    (Tina) Incredible

    Bette’s eyes glisten and she reaches for Tina’s hand. They sit together in silence for a moment, both smiling.

    (Bette) Where is she?

    (Tina) She’s at a friend’s, she’s happy there for now

    Bette nods.

    (Bette) Does she know yet what’s going on?

    Tina shakes her head.

    (Tina) I’m going to speak to her in the morning

    Bette nods.

    (Bette) Do you have a photo of her?

    Tina smiles.

    (Tina) Yes, of course

    Tina takes out her phone and moves to position herself closer to Bette. Tina leans towards her as she holds her phone for them both to see, and as she scrolls through some photos they both smile at the screen.

    (Bette) My God Tee, she’s so beautiful. I can see so much of you in her

    Tina glances at her and they smile at each other, before both focusing again on the screen.

    As Tina continues scrolling Bette’s eyes move to focus on her, and she takes a breath as she watches her, sitting so closely alongside her. Tina feels Bette’s eyes on her and looks over, and they hold each other’s gaze for a long moment. Tina eventually looks away, moving further along the couch and putting her phone aside. They sit in silence for another moment, and Bette then looks over at her.

    1. Hummm…. so the confusion has begun…. Bette has a child whom she does not know, a sister whose relationship has made a 180 degree turn in 15 years and all she can think about is Tina. And she is already scheming to keep Tina around. Let see where this goes….

    5. Hey ! Thanks a lot for sharing this new chapter. I’m really looking forward to next chapter. Well, I still think what Bette is doing here is highly unfair to Tina and her current life and relationship ( I mean, let’s be honest, that looks a lot like a trap she wants her to fall in ), especially since Bette obviously loves her very much, so that still troubles be a little, but I definitely want to see where this is going. Thanks a lot !!
