    (Kit) Ah, for you. I’m cutting my tour short (Bette nods) OK, well I think maybe you should hold off on that Kit raises her eyebrows. (Bette) I’m sorry Kit but you’re not who I need right now. Not with where my head is at. And I don’t want you cancelling your tour to come

    Kit raises her eyebrows.

    (Bette) I’m sorry Kit but you’re not who I need right now. Not with where my head is at. And I don’t want you cancelling your tour to come here when that’s the case

    They sit in silence for a moment as Kit takes this in.

    (Kit) OK Bette, I understand, and that’s fine

    (Bette nods) Thank you

    (Kit) But who is it you do need right now?

    Bette doesn’t respond and Kit sighs.

    (Kit) You know she’s engaged, right?

    Bette frowns.

    (Bette) Yes, I know that

    Kit raises her eyebrows.

    (Kit) OK

    (Bette) And did the others tell you not to contact Julie?

    (Kit) Julia

    (Bette) Yes, Julia. Please don’t contact her

    Kit rubs her forehead.

    (Kit) Bette, what are you up to?

    (Bette) I want to spend time with her Kit, that’s all

    Kit shakes her head.

    (Kit) Bette, this is a bad idea

    Bette glances to the stairs as she hears the shower starting up in the spare room ensuite. She focuses back on the call.

    (Bette) Please don’t try and talk me out of anything, I know what I’m doing

    Kit shakes her head.

    (Kit) So if I don’t come and stay with you, what? You’re hoping Tina will continue to?

    (Bette) She might

    Kit sighs.

    (Kit) Bette, things have changed a lot since 2002. I know this must be very confusing for you, but you don’t want the same things anymore

    (Bette) You’re saying I don’t want Tina?

    (Kit sighs) Yes Bette, that’s what I’m saying

    (Bette) Well that’s bullshit Kit. Of course I want her. I could never not want her. I don’t know what’s gone on here but I know that much

    (Kit) Bette, I think you should have a long think about doing anything to jeopardise Tina’s relationship when chances are you wouldn’t want anything with her once you’re back here, and in your right mind

    Bette frowns as she takes this in.

    (Bette) Thanks for the talk Kit, just please don’t contact Julie. Sorry but I need to go

    Bette ends the call and Kit shakes her head as she lowers her phone from her ear.

    1. Hummm…. so the confusion has begun…. Bette has a child whom she does not know, a sister whose relationship has made a 180 degree turn in 15 years and all she can think about is Tina. And she is already scheming to keep Tina around. Let see where this goes….

    5. Hey ! Thanks a lot for sharing this new chapter. I’m really looking forward to next chapter. Well, I still think what Bette is doing here is highly unfair to Tina and her current life and relationship ( I mean, let’s be honest, that looks a lot like a trap she wants her to fall in ), especially since Bette obviously loves her very much, so that still troubles be a little, but I definitely want to see where this is going. Thanks a lot !!
