Chapter 31 – Off to New York

Angie:  What will we do while you are gone?

Tina:  I suggest you box up all the CDs in the kids lounge to go to Santa Monica. You should pack them in small boxes since they are rather heavy. And if you finish that, box up the books. Get the knickknacks and fragile items to the dining room table.

Bette:  Box up the books in the main sitting room and start to move those knick knacks. Oh, and go through the storage closets for your sports equipment and winter wear and make some decision on that stuff. Hopefully Tina and I will be able to start our own room tomorrow.

Tina: And don’t forget to keep the laundry going. Get all the towels and dirty clothes and let’s keep them up so we don’t have a truck load of laundry. And go ahead and strip all the unused beds and pack up all the clean extra linens except for one change for each bed being used.

Angie: Okay, that’s enough to keep us busy for 40 hours. Surely you will be back before we finish that.

Bette: Well, the more you get done, the more time we will have later in the week to do other things. And yes, we will be back as quickly as we can. And we will bring back some lunch.

Tina: Okay, are we ready to get at it?  I’m going to order some lunch for today. I will have it be delivered right around one.

Bette and Angie headed for the various boxes and started to check the box and the list and shuffled it to the side of the room with the baker’s rack. The refrigerator, the microwave, desk lamp was all shuffled to the side to remain in their original packaging. The box with the hot plate was shifted toward the center of the room. The toaster oven/air cooker was left in its box. The opened the boxes with the computer, the printer and school supplies. It also contained Angie’s new back pack and matching purse. Bette decided to close it up and unpack it in New Haven. It was then checked off the list and shoved over to the ready to go pile. The boxes with the bed linens had already been opened. So, they were ready to start loading the trunks.
