    Chapter 32 – More Packing

Bette: Maybe both? Yeah, sounds like a plan. I’m afraid that I am going to need recovery time or I will need to be carried to breakfast. I would rather not explain that to Mom.

Tina:  Come on Ms. Menopause. Let’s get cleaned up.

Bette and Tina quickly showered and dressed and joined the kids in the living room.  Mary soon joined them and they were off to breakfast. After breakfast, the crew came back to the apartment and immediately began to do the packing and getting the laundry caught up.

Mary and Angie began packing the books while Daniel walked the lamps and breakable items to the dining table. They decided to attack the closets after their morning break.

Bette and Tina began working on the hanging clothes. Bette went through ever item and began pulling items out which were going to charity. Tina put the clothes in a bag and the hangers in a box to be shipped to Santa Monica. Bette was pulling out as least 50% of what was hanging on the racks.

Bette:  There are things I do not remember when I bought them. I have accumulated far too many clothes. I’m not going to let this happen to my closet again. There is just no sense in having this many clothes.

Tina: Well, I’m impressed. I thought I threw out a lot, but I believe you have me beat. Of course, you may have had more to begin with. Hopefully, someone will get some use out of these things. Some of them have hardly been worn.

Bette: I obviously didn’t love them as much as I thought I did when I bought them.

Tina: This is going to make it easier to organize our closet. Maybe I should go through my clothes one more time. I kept some of my business suits and my dressy clothes.  I kept about half of my formal wear, but I did pitch out most of the older stuff and much of the winter wear. I kept some should we go on a trip to snow country. But I no longer needed a full winter wardrobe.

Bette: Yeah, I’m doing that too. I figure we may visit Angie in the winter and we will need some warmer clothing. Let me get to the formal wear. I need to thin that out big time. I think I can get it down to about 10 outfits. Don’t you think that will be enough?
