Chapter 32 – More Packing
Tina brought in the pizzas and called everyone to lunch. Mary got out beers and soft drinks while Daniel handed out paper plates and napkins. Everyone helped themselves to the still hot pizza.
Tina: I think that there is not much to do in the laundry room or the storage room. I had housekeeping come in and clean that out, so there are no more can goods or food. We need to get Angie’s personal laundry and Mary’s laundry done first thing on Saturday morning. If we have time, we will do the rest. But put your dirty towels in a plastic bag and box them in labeled box. Do the same with the sheets. Do not mix towels and sheets. We will have a couple of hours, if we have time, we will try to wash the towels before we leave.
Bette: And be sure to take your lamps to the dining room for packing. When you pack and leave that room, it should be ready for movers.
Tina: Angie, your movers will be here at 4:00 am on Saturday morning. Everything you want on that truck should be in the kid’s lounge, right?
Angie: Right. I’ll have my suitcase and my overnight bag. But my overnight bag is empty at the moment.
Bette: Well, pack your overnight bag for Saturday night. We will not take that into your dorm room. We will take your suitcase in and unpack it and you can put your things away after we have put everything else away. We are going to store your suitcase under your bed. When you come in on Sunday, after you have unpacked that bag, you can store it under your bed as well. We might store your heavy blanket in the suitcase, so you will not take up closet space.
Angie: That’s a good idea. Hopefully, I won’t need it until late October or November.
Bette: Well, folks, looks like we have finished what we needed to do several hours in ahead of schedule. So, we can take the afternoon off. But we do have a dinner date with Marilyn. The car will be here at 6:30.
Angie: I’d like to take a walk in Central Park.
Daniel: Can we go to the Museum of Natural History?
