Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven
Mary: If there is not time to wash my clothes, I am not above washing them when I get home. I have enough clean clothes to get me through the weekend.
Bette: Let’s see how it goes. But if we have time, I want as many of the dirty clothes wash, dried and put away as possible tomorrow. Let’s just concentrate on keeping the machines running.
Tina: So, what do we have on the agenda for today?
Bette: Okay, we have a choice for the morning. We can either do a tour of the Museum of Natural History and then find a restaurant to have lunch. Or we can do something touristy – ride the double decker buses through New York and then take the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty and then find someplace to have lunch then visit the 911 Memorial this afternoon and then go have dinner and then return home.
Daniel: Wow, those are both good choices. What do you want to do Angie?
Angie: I think I would like to ride the double-decker buses, and then go to Liberty Island. But let’s not climb that statue. That will take all day. And it’s too hot.
Bette: Okay, that sounds good. Is everyone in agreement? Any other suggestions?
Tina: So, we have breakfast and then what?
Bette: We have breakfast then we head to Time Square, get on a bus and start our morning. Once we are at Wall Street, we can either go do the tours of the 911 Memorial, then have lunch and then go get the ferry to Liberty Island. After our afternoon activities, we can just take a cab to the restaurant and have dinner.
Tina: What do you have in mind for dinner?
Bette: That Italian restaurant over on West 45th Street. It’s called Trattoria Trecolori. You remember that place. Good food and we will be dressed fine. It will be early for their dinner hour. And it’s a few blocks away from our apartment but close to Time Square. I don’t think we will have a problem getting a cab.
Tina: Owooo… love your choice. That’s perfect.
Bette: Here comes our food. All of a sudden, I’m hungry.
Mary: This is a good restaurant. Everything is just so good.
