Chapter 35 – Labor Day and More

Tina: Hey Bette. You did make it home early. How was your day?

Bette:  It was good. Nothing exciting.  I took George, Grace and Holly out to lunch. Worked on my lesson plans but other than that it was a really quiet day. How about you?

Tina:  Well, I slept later today than I usually do. But once I got up and got going, thanks to my son who prepared my breakfast, it was a very productive day. Oh Bette, the studio looks wonderful. It’s perfect. It has great office space, personal space and public space. The actual studio is going to be great. The lights are good and there is a lot of wall space to put canvases up and start painting. Daniel says I have an excellent computer set-up. I just need the washer and dryer from New York and I am all set. Tomorrow, I’m going to move some clothes to paint in to the studio. And I am going to set up a few canvases to get started. I may not put the first paint to canvas until tomorrow afternoon. I also need to load some of the photos I took in New York to the computer. Oh, and the garage? What a wonderful idea that was Bette. My car was comfortable to get into this afternoon and it was a rather hot day. Jim found some wonderful furniture. It is perfect. The sofa is comfortable. I haven’t tried out the Murphy bed yet. But what a beautiful piece of furniture. Can’t wait for you to see it, Bette.

Bette:  So, what Jim purchased pleased you?

Tina:  Oh yeah. He is sending the invoice by email. I’ll write him a check as soon as I review it. He is supposed to be coming over tomorrow morning to go over how all the appliance work. That space is a regular little apartment. If we ever have more guest than we have bedrooms in our home, we have a place to put someone up.

Bette: Well, that would have to be a special someone. I’m not sure I want just anyone sleeping in my wife’s bed.

Tina: Yes, they would have to be really a special someone.

    Bette: So, is it finished?

Tina:  I talked to the contractor and he said he would be by to do a final check with me. I will then give him his final payment. But I saw nothing that I wanted done. Oh, the doors are really nice and elegant. There are double doors from the gallery to the studio and double doors to the back storage room. Oh, I think they are going to deliver the movable walls at the end of the week. There are six of them. Since I have nothing to hang at the moment, I don’t see any rush.
