Chapter 35 – Labor Day and More

The office was in rich dark wood furnishings with a table top desk and sitting chairs and a small conference table.

Bette:  Tina. This reminds me of Peggy Peabody. You just need some art work and it very well could be. She would be right at home in this office. It’s wonderful. A real executive look to it.

Daniel:  This is a great computer system, too. Fast. I’m almost finished. I’m going to turn it on and see how it sounds.

Tina: Oh, wonderful. Then you need to teach me how to turn it on and how to turn on each of the rooms. I need to know how to select the different play list as well.

Tina: Oh Bette, there is a half bath off the office. It’s next to the public restrooms. And they are much nicer than what was here before. There is a reception desk in front of the restrooms with electrical and computer hooks up. I have not equipped that desk yet. I think it will be a while before I need a receptionist. But I do have a place for that person when I do get one.

Tina showed Bette around. She was impressed with the layout and the craftsmanship of the structure. The furnishings were lovely and functional. Bette then walked around the area which would be the gallery and then into Tina’s production room. She then went into the storage- shipping room. Tina talked about the possibility of putting racks to store paintings and a wrap station when she needed it. There was also a paint room in the back section. She could open the dock doors to allow petroleum base products to air out. She had been researching the appropriate way to handle disposition of paint and cleaning fluids. She was getting prepared to be in compliance with all environmental laws and regulation plus keep herself safe from harmful fumes.

Bette:  Tina, this place looks better than I ever imagined it would. You done a wonderful job putting this together. Now all you need a little art work and you will be set.

Tina:  Bette, this is because of you. You found this place and suggested a commercial establishment. I am thrilled with this set up and to know it’s only 30 minutes from your work and from Daniel’s school and 10 minutes from our new home. I don’t think we could have planned this any better if we had tried.
