Mary seemed excited about this decision. And she was determined to start this move. The first move she had made in over 40 years. The job in front of her seemed immense.

Bette went and filled Tina in on her conversation with Mary. Tina was thrilled. She would call Mary and talk to her later in the week.

Bette and Tina decided to go to the grocery store before lunch. Daniel decided not to go with them but agreed to stay in the house until they returned. Once they were home, he helped get the groceries to the kitchen and then putting many items away. Tina searched the freezer and found the left-over steak dinners from Angie’s party. She decided that instead of cooking, they would eat these – steak, twice bake potato and broccoli. They would have some rainbow sherbet for dessert. They then prepared a large salad with grilled chicken for lunch. After lunch, the three decided to take a long walk on the beach.

Summer was officially over for those who go to school. Fortunately, Daniel was ready for the fall. He had had a memorable summer. He had grown close to his sister, his moms and his extended family. He had learned to play golf and now a resident of Southern California.

Bette had assembled what she needed to take to school with her and put it into her brief case. She had chosen what she would wear to her first day as Professor Kennard-Porter. After dinner, the family decided to watch a movie. Bette and Tina snuggled on the sofa under a blanket. After the movie was over, they talked about it with Daniel. That was Daniel’s favorite part of movie watching; the discussions about the plot, the characters and what they liked and disliked about the movie.

It was getting close to 9 o’clock when Bette and Tina said goodnight to Daniel. Bette needed to be in school by 9:00 am. She hoped to be home by 4:00. Tina told Daniel that he would be going to with her to the studio. She was having computers delivered and installed. And she wanted to see what all had been done in her absence. Daniel decided to go to his room as well. This would be his normal going to bed time so he decided to start tonight.
