Daniel:  Really, where to?

Tina: We were thinking about going to Bear Mountain to a cabin to enjoy a mountain retreat. We could do some hiking and perhaps photograph some wild animals and birds. Just a break from our normal routine.

Daniel:  Wow, really? Sounds awesome. Would Angie go with us?

Bette:  No, Angie will be doing her thing in New Haven. This trip would be just the three of us.

Daniel:  Sound great to me.

Tina: Well, to do this, we need you to look at your schedule of intermural games and other activities so we can pick a good weekend.

Bette: Now, the weekend we go to Philadelphia, you may have to go stay with Kit and Sonny. Would you be okay with that?

Daniel:  Yeah, sure. That would be great. Maybe Aunt Kit could let me hear some of her records.

Tina:  She would enjoy that. And maybe you and Sonny could go fishing or something.

Daniel: Wow, yeah. That would be great.

Bette was liking this idea more and more. Daniel needed a male presence in his life and Bette really liked Sonny. He treated Kit wonderfully and got along with the gang well. He was all male but he had a gentleness and empathy for people that most men seemed to be missing.

Bette and Tina had a second cup of coffee and then began to clean the kitchen and manage the laundry. They then retrieved their lap tops and began to look at their schedule. Daniel came back in after going to his room for a few minutes and requested that they call Angie.

Bette called Angie and she answered immediately. She was talking a mile a minute. Bette stopped her and put her on speaker so they all could hear her. She and Suzanne had set up their computers and familiarized themselves with all the appliances and how they worked. In the afternoon, Angie told Suzanne that she had a bike of her own and they both spent the afternoon riding around campus and the nearby neighborhood stores. They returned to the dorm and decided to prepare the salmon meal which they both thoroughly enjoyed. They had cleaned up their dishes and walked the halls and met some of the other students who lived in the dorm. Many had ordered pizzas for their dinner. They retired to their rooms had talked way into the night. They got up about 9:00 am and had breakfast and were doing some organizing for their classes. They planned to take the bikes out again this afternoon and do some more exploring of the town. They planned to do their first laundry after dinner tonight as most people would wait until later in the week. They hoped to meet their suitemates today, but they were not sure. They were going to pick up a few things they thought they would need while they were out. But so far, life at Yale was absolutely wonderful.
