They had their dinner and enjoyed the evening. At about 8:30, Bette suggested that Daniel help John David with his overnight bag as they needed to be getting back to the beach house. Joey’s grandmother arrived to pick up Joey. Bette and Tina met the woman who was obviously Joe’s mom. She was gracious in her greeting and then hurried Joey along. She obviously knew that her son and his wife needed some alone time. Bette and Tina thanked their host and hostess for the lovely evening and promised to have them over once they were settled in.

Bette and Tina got into the car with Daniel and John David in the back seat. They were talking ninety to nothing. Bette looked at Tina a little confused. Daniel was not a talker, but he had plenty to say that evening. Evidently, John David had been to Disneyland several times and he was filling Daniel in on all the things they could do while they were there. Daniel was questioning and John David was giving him all the information.

Bette:  Looks like we have a built-in tour guide for this adventure.

Tina:  That would be an affirmative. Now let’s see if we can get these two to settle down and get to bed at a decent hour.

Bette:  Joe and Barbara are nice people. I really like them both.

Tina:  Me too. I just hope they get some of their problems worked out.

They arrived at the beach house and Bette and Tina showed John David to his room which was right next door to Daniel’s room. They showed him where the towels were, the bottled water and light switches for the lamps and the overhead lights.  They told Daniel and John David that they should be ready to leave the beach house at 7:00 am. They would eat out and then be at the park about 9:00 am and depending on how the day went, they would eat dinner and leave the park about 7:00 or so. They promised to have John David home by 8:30. The next day was a school day for both of them and they would need their sleep.

Bette:  Daniel, you guys are going to be together all day tomorrow so don’t stay up too late. You need your sleep and all the energy you can muster to walk that park all day long. John David, is there anything we can get for you before we leave you two?
