    Chapter 37 – Daniel’s Weekend

John David: No, I think I have everything I need. Thank you for asking me to come with you guys. I think we are going to have a lot of fun tomorrow.

Tina:  Your welcome John David. Why don’t you text your mom and your dad that you are here and tell them good night? We are going to say good night. If you need anything, just call us on your cell. That will get us to you a lot quicker than coming down the hall and knocking on the door.

They then hugged Daniel goodnight and he seemed a little embarrass about it. But that was just another sign that Daniel was growing up.

The next morning Tina got up early and decided to make French toast for the boys and she called Daniel just after 6 to tell him that they were having breakfast at the house. At 6:30 both boys came down in their khakis and polo shirts. They were light colored to keep them cool during the day. Daniel was thrilled with breakfast. He loved French Toast. John David was pleased with the food as well.

Bette:  Daniel, help John David get his luggage into my car. We will be dropping him off before we come back to the house. Now both of you need your cell phones. I hope they are fully charged.

    Daniel:  Mine is. John David?

John David:  Yes, I plug mine up last night before I went to bed. Nice bed by the way. I slept well.

Bette:  Okay, you guys. We need for you to stay in eyesight of us at all times. If you need to go to the restroom, you both go together. You stick with each other and make sure you know where we are and you never not know where the other is. I do not anticipate problems, but you two need to be aware of your surroundings and if anything unusual happens around you, you let us know or you let park security know. If we get separated and you cannot find us within say 10 minutes, you call us on the cell. This is the buddy system. You go nowhere without your buddy.

Daniel:  Yes, mom. We will be careful and we will be safe.
