Chapter 38 – Last Week at Redondo Beach
Bette: Okay, why don’t I round this off to $250,000. Make sure you add the dumpster to the bill.
Jim: Oh, don’t worry. You will receive actual invoice detailing everything that was purchased and all the labor for installation. I must tell you both. I love this house. It has an amazing feel to it. Plenty of space and it is well built and in a wonderful location. If you ever decide you want to sell it, please give me a call.
Tina: Thank you Jim. But I believe we are going to live here for a while. Starting tomorrow, this is going to be home sweet home.
Bette: Let me go call the bank and get a bank transfer set up. Honey, we can stop by and sign for the wire transfer on the way back to the beach house.
Tina: Bette we both drove.
Bette: But only one car is going back to the beach house. We have another car to get over here today.
Tina: Right. Come on, let’s get going. We have to do some laundry for the last time and make up some beds and pack up a bathroom or two.
Bette: Let’s not forget Angie’s golf clubs and Daniel’s electric guitar and amps. They were walking out and making plans for the afternoon. They waved bye to Jim and headed for the bank. They then decided to go through a drive through for some lunch and then headed for the beach house. They quickly got out all the luggage and took everything that was in the chest of drawers and put them in the luggage. Angie had only one piece of luggage but her chest of drawers was practically empty. They then started on the bathroom putting everything in grocery bags and some boxes they had gathered. Angie’s bathroom was pretty much cleaned out. Bette and Tina made up their bed and Daniel’s bed with clean sheets and checked all the other rooms. Bette went to the media room and saw her file cabinet, printer and other computer equipment which should be moved. She would put that in the upstairs study. All that was left was some laundry supplies which Bette packed in a laundry basket. They were taking the bathroom stuff and the laundry baskets of supplies to the cars. The luggage would be packed into the trunk with the clothing boxes. They finally took a break and had lunch.
