Chapter 38 – Last Week at Redondo Beach

Bette and Tina started to stock the bathrooms with shower products, toilet tissue, and a laundry basket. They stacked four laundry baskets and on the hand trucks and headed to the elevator.

Bette: What else is there to do?

Tina: Let’s make sure we have emptied the vehicles. Angie’s golf clubs? Do we want to put those in Angie’s closet for right now? Oh, leave our robes in my car, so they will be available for us at the studio.

Bette: Yeah, that way they will be out of the way.  And let’s put our luggage in the lesser used items closet and I need to pack some clothes for tomorrow. We can use the same suitcase. And let’s take a look at our balcony. I want to see what kind of patio furniture Jim selected for us.

They decided to go empty the cars first and carry the clubs up on the elevator.

Tina: I am so liking this elevator. When the realtor first mentioned it, I thought it was a bit decadent for an ordinary residence. But now…. Thank god, this house has an elevator. This is saving us so many steps.

Bette: And time. Let’s lock the door open and look around and see if there is anything else we need to carry upstairs. Let’s make this the last trip upstairs for the day. I am getting hungry. How about you?

Tina: Yes, I am. What are you cooking for us?

Bette: How about some Mexican. Some burritos, some tacos, maybe a chimichanga, a little salad with some avocado, some beans and rice.

Tina:  Not too much now. Let’s split a chicken chimichanga between us and get some extra sauce. Maybe a beef burrito and two fish tacos each, and we will split a single order of beans and rice. And a salad to split between us. Oh, and get some of that melted cheese. Oh, and get two beers each. We need a beer after this day.  If there is anything left over, we can have it for breakfast.  But I think I have enough breakfast food for us at the office. I stopped and got a few things for the studio once I knew we would be camping there tonight.
