Chapter 38 – Last Week at Redondo Beach
Bette: Shower before or after we eat?
Tina: After. That way we can just go get in the bed. We can watch a little television together.
Bette: I’ll order the food, as soon as we get all this stuff taken care of. We will be finished in about an hour. You take the clubs; I handle the hand trucks. Angie’s room first.
They both work quickly and efficiently and then moved to the room which was designated Mary’s room and then to Daniel’s room. They packed extra toilet tissue and a couple of boxes of facial tissue as well as extra body wash, shampoo, toothpaste and mouthwash. They finally took the last basket to their bathroom and started to arrange their bathroom supplies.
Bette: We are going to need to do some bathroom supply shopping. We still need to stock the two half baths and the powder room down stairs and the cabana bathrooms. We need to do that before Charlie and his crew get here. You know if they got to go, they got to go.
Tina: Yeah, let’s put out some paper towel too since we don’t know when the towels will be available.
Bette: Do we need to go to the super market before we get here tomorrow?
Tina: It would be a good idea. We need laundry detergent too. Charlie and his crew are going to have dirty clothes when they arrive. We could wash and dry their clothes while they are moving in the furniture. That way, most of their clothes will be clean when they arrive home.
Bette: That’s a good idea and we have two washers and two dryers in our laundry room. And most everything we had in New York is clean.
Tina: And let’s get some dish washing soap as well. Both hand wash and machine wash. I am going to want to wash everything before we put it away. Let’s work on what goes in the kitchen first and what goes in the china cabinet in the dining room can wait until the kitchen is finish.
Bette: We have to locate towels before we start the kitchen.
Tina: And we need to locate the sheets for the beds as early in the day as possible. Maybe we can get some of Jim’s people to help us with the bed making before he leaves.
