    Chapter 39 – Moving Weekend

Daniel: I was wondering where my towels and sheets were.

Tina:  Well, we are replacing all of these when we get the drapes and new bed covers and furniture. You already have a new mattress. But this furniture will be donated to charity.

Daniel: Well, I am making good progress. I only have a couple more boxes.

Tina:  I am going to leave these knick knacks for you to put up. I’m just going to set up your lamps and make sure they work. You have three lamps, right?

Daniel:  Yeah, two bedside tables lamps and one on the desk.

Tina:  We have Angie’s room and the master bedroom and the lamps in the library, the playroom, the small study. We need to stop and have some lunch in about 30 minutes.

Daniel:  Good, I’m a little hungry.

Tina walked out and got a couple of more lamps and went to set them up. Bette set the extra linens and towels in the closets.  Tina then went to the kitchen to start the lunch. Bette and Daniel went out on the patio and began to break down the boxes and put them into the recycle bin.  Tina called the two to lunch and they went and sat in the sun room. Daniel loved the new casual dining furniture. He had noticed all the new pool side furniture and wanted to take a look around.  Bette and Tina thought that they may actually get everything out of boxes and in its appropriate room. It was actually looking more like Monday might be a routine day for the family.

Bette: Daniel, you need to pay your food program ticket today. And I noticed that your account is building a balance. Don’t you think you should shift some of that money to your savings account?

Daniel:  Yeah, that’s a good idea. I’m going to need some money for something special.

Tina: So, tell us how your weekend went?

Daniel:  Oh, it was great. I don’t think the people at the stadium like the San Francisco Giants much. They got booed a lot.

Bette:  So, who won the games.

Daniel:  The Dodgers won both games. The first one was 4 to 2 and the second one was 5 to 3. Mr. Wilkins said the Dodgers are the regional leaders and may go to the playoffs to get into the World Series. If that happens, he won’t be able to get any more tickets for the rest of the season. Evidently, he got these as a gift and they will simply not be available if the Dodgers continue to do well. Mrs. Wilkins said we were lucky to get these tickets. Evidently, Mr. Wilkins’ brother works for this big manufacturing company and he got the company tickets for this weekend. He wasn’t interested but he knew Joey would like to go.  So, he gave them to Mr. Wilkins.
