Bette with tears in her eyes put her arm around Tina and around Angie and held them tightly.

Bette:  Oh, Boo, we love you so much. You are going to have a wonderful life. You are going to pursue your path and your happiness and you will be successful because that is who you are. We love you Angie, do not ever think otherwise. We love you no matter what.

Angie and Tina were shedding tears as well as Bette. This was a moment of closeness and the time in which Angie would leave their home to start her adult life was looming weeks away and they could all feel the pains that separation even though desired by all, it would cause.

Angie kissed them both and headed up to her room.

Bette held Tina in her arms and stroked her back and kissed her forehead.

Bette: Why don’t we lock up and head upstairs ourselves. Maybe I can hold you for a little while so we can talk?

Tina nodded her head. She was beginning to regain her composure. Their time with Angie had touched her heart but had made her see that Angie was beginning to assume responsibility for her future. It would be the first of a million steps to go. Tina was both proud and remorseful about her daughter impending journey. She was proud that Angelica was becoming a young adult and remorseful that she was no longer a child.

Bette and Tina made their way to their bedroom and through their night time routine. They had each emerged from the bathroom wearing only a robe. Somehow innately they knew that they both need some skin-to-skin contact. It did not matter at the moment if the contact would include sex or not, they just needed to be with each other and as close as possible.

They went to their sides of the bed and pulled down the covers, removed their robes and crawled into bed. Tina had brought out a couple of towels and threw one to Bette. They each put one under their pillow. They made their way to each other and pulled each other close. Bette put her head on Tina’s chest and Tina put her face on Bette’s hair. They were silent for a few moments.
