Chapter 5 – A Day with No Plans

Bette: Perhaps not! Let’s just see how it goes. Feeling better?

Tina:  Much better. What time is it?

Bette:  It’s about 6 am, why?

Tina:  I think we need to do a run, have some breakfast, shower and then have a little morning delight and take a morning nap!

Bette:  Wow, I like it. What about the kids?

Tina:  I think they can fin for themselves for this morning. I’ll give Angie instructions on how to make some lunch for all of us. I am sure that when we explain that you and I will be apart for most of next week, that they will allow us some alone time for a couple of hours. We will be available all afternoon.

Bette:  Oh, woman of my dreams!  What a wonderful plan.

Tina: Let’s go ahead and strip the bed and put a load of towel and sheets in the wash before we leave. I’ll remind Angie that she is to keep the laundry up.

Bette:  Okay, are you up to doing a run?

Tina:  Yea, I’m fine. I’ve replenished my water. We might want to start buying some of those sports drinks to replenish our electrolytes after all the sweating. We just have to watch our calorie intake. We don’t need the carbs.

Bette:  I’ll get the sheets to make the bed.

The both got up and put on their robes and then stripped and made up the bed. They then went and found some running shorts, a tank top and some sports underwear and then pulled on some sweats over that. It was often windy and cool on the beach. But if there was no wind, running shorts may be a lot more comfortable.

With their basket of towels and sheets and dirty clothes, they went down to the kitchen. Tina left a note for Angie and Daniel and gave them instructions on how to make yogurt, honey, granola, fruit, and nuts breakfast. She asked if she would prepare four servings and get Daniel to assist. Bette started the sheets in the washer and joined Tina in the kitchen. Tina then put the coffee on and was ready for her run.

Tina and Bette went outside and notice that the temperature was comfortable and there was no wind. They decided to strip off their sweat suits and do their stretches. They then set their alarm for 30 minutes and started down the beach.
