    Chapter 6

    Tina nods.

(Tina) Thank you, I appreciate it. She’s very keen to see you, but I thought it was better to try and avoid it for now, and see how long this situation lasts for. I think it could be very traumatic for her, having you not remember her

    Bette nods as she listens.

(Tina) But I can’t keep her from you longer than this week I don’t think. She’ll grow anxious that we’re keeping something more from her. I think it’s important for her to see that you’re ok

(Bette nods) OK, well once she’s back then

    They smile at each other.

    (Tina) OK

Tina pauses again, and takes a breath.

(Tina) And I think I should be there too, at least for the first time you see her

(Bette frowns) Of course I want you there

Tina looks at her for a moment and then nods and looks away, and Bette examines her.

    (Bette) Are you OK?

    Tina looks back to her.

(Tina) Did you speak to the others? About the past. I assume you have by now?

Bette looks at her for a moment before responding.

(Bette) Well, it’s not my past, but yes. We spoke

Tina nods and looks away again. She focuses back on Bette.

(Tina) Did you want to arrange a time to talk then?

Bette looks back at her, and then shakes her head.

    (Bette) No, I don’t actually

They hold each other’s gaze for a moment. Tina then nods, focusing down towards the floor.

    (Tina) OK

Bette frowns as she watches her, confused by her reaction.

(Bette) You’ve said you would find it very unhelpful for you. And I’ve been thinking about it, and I don’t really see the point for me either

Tina looks up at her, and Bette shrugs.

(Bette) Why spend this time together dissecting these events that were so long ago to you, and that I wasn’t there for

Tina furrows her brow as she takes this in.

(Bette) I’d much rather just spend time with you, if you’d like to

Tina smiles and they hold each other’s gaze.

(Bette) Can you stay with me? While Angelica’s on camp?

Tina raises her eyebrows and looks at her for a moment, and then smiles and nods.

    1. Great to see a new chapter!

So, it’s Bette who didn’t want to be friends all these years. What happened that they were barely civil? Do you follow the OG line of story, the one where Tina broke Bette’s heart by leaving her for Henry or did something else happen?

Maybe it’s a positive thing Bette lost her memory temporarily, they can discover each other again, be friends again and when Bette regains her memory they will have not a big fall out about it, at least i hope.

Looking forward to read the next chapter!

    2. Okay… so what does Bette now know? She knows that in the current time she is not interested in being friends with Tina. They are civil in handling Angie, but that is about it. But she has no idea how this came about and she is really reluctant to get any more of the story than what was told to them by the gang. What an impossible situation? How can people make reasonable decisions without knowing the background which put them where they are at? Bette’s determination not to be friends with Tina has to have some impact on Tina’s choices. This is going to take a while to work out… even if Bette’s memory suddenly comes back. So let’s see what happens next.

      Thanks for the chapter…

    3. Agree with Martha, Bette should have asked questions, especially since Tina stated that Bette doesn’t want to be friends in the present.

I hope they can solve their issues and reconnect in a positive way.

    4. Love this take to your story so much! With a girlfriend and a fiancée in the mix. Will we learn more about Tina while they are on their own? I hope that Tina’s status isn’t very engaged anymore without anyone knowing yet. And “Jules”? She will return sooner or later, right?
Looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks for posting!
