    Chapter 6

(Bette) Well I’m proud of you

They look at each other affectionately.

    (Tina) Thank you

Bette takes a seat diagonally opposite her at the bench.

(Bette) So what was going on today?

(Tina sighs) One of our major films in production at the moment has just been a headache from the start. It’s almost comical how many issues we’ve had. I’m approaching a point of just cutting our losses before it gets any worse

(Bette) You think it will come to that?

(Tina sighs) I’m still hoping to avoid it. We managed to resolve the latest issue this afternoon, but honestly if anything else comes up it will definitely be on the cards

Bette nods and Tina has a sip of wine.

(Tina) And how was your day?

    Bette raises her eyebrows.

    (Bette) Extremely boring

Tina gives a small laugh and Bette smiles at her.

(Bette) I’m glad that they’re happy for me to be on my own for periods of time now, but I’m going to have to come up with something to occupy my days

Tina raises her eyebrows and nods.

(Tina) Yes I’d imagine you’re not coping so well with that

They look at each other affectionately.

(Tina) I was thinking I’d organise some time off later in the week

(Bette) You don’t need to do that

    Tina waves her hand dismissively.

(Tina) I’d like to, really. I haven’t taken leave in a long time, and I can check in on things from here

    She shrugs.

(Tina) I have a very good team, they can manage without me for a couple of days

    Bette smiles at her.

    (Bette) If you’re sure

    (Tina smiles) I am

    They smile at each other.

(Tina) I’ll see what I can do about keeping you entertained

Bette raises her eyebrows and they smile at each other.

    (Bette) Well I’d like that

They eat dinner together and then move to the couch. They sit closely alongside one another, Tina with her legs tucked under and Bette leaning back into the couch.

(Tina) Has anyone given you a rundown on the last fifteen years of major events?

(Bette) If you’re referring to major events in Alice’s relationships then yes, I’m all across it

    1. Great to see a new chapter!

So, it’s Bette who didn’t want to be friends all these years. What happened that they were barely civil? Do you follow the OG line of story, the one where Tina broke Bette’s heart by leaving her for Henry or did something else happen?

Maybe it’s a positive thing Bette lost her memory temporarily, they can discover each other again, be friends again and when Bette regains her memory they will have not a big fall out about it, at least i hope.

Looking forward to read the next chapter!

    2. Okay… so what does Bette now know? She knows that in the current time she is not interested in being friends with Tina. They are civil in handling Angie, but that is about it. But she has no idea how this came about and she is really reluctant to get any more of the story than what was told to them by the gang. What an impossible situation? How can people make reasonable decisions without knowing the background which put them where they are at? Bette’s determination not to be friends with Tina has to have some impact on Tina’s choices. This is going to take a while to work out… even if Bette’s memory suddenly comes back. So let’s see what happens next.

      Thanks for the chapter…

    3. Agree with Martha, Bette should have asked questions, especially since Tina stated that Bette doesn’t want to be friends in the present.

I hope they can solve their issues and reconnect in a positive way.

    4. Love this take to your story so much! With a girlfriend and a fiancée in the mix. Will we learn more about Tina while they are on their own? I hope that Tina’s status isn’t very engaged anymore without anyone knowing yet. And “Jules”? She will return sooner or later, right?
Looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks for posting!
