Kit couldn’t quite believe what Carmen was telling her. Carmen has been Helena’s First in Command for over 150 years. The one she trusted more than any other vampire in the entire colony. Carmen was steadfastly loyal to Helena and Helena never questioned that loyalty . And here she was ready to betray her.
“Carmen. You are willing to betray Helena to fulfill the prophecy?..Why?”
Carmen sighs “The night Uta came back from her encounter with Bette and I channeled her seeing Bette toss her so effortlessly I knew she couldn’t have been feeding. She could have killed Uta…But she ultimately spared her. Helena insists she is a threat to the coven but if that were the case Bette would have killed Uta without a second thought and taken us all out in the process…And upon hearing that she indeed did find the vial containing Ambrogio’s blood we are no match for Bette. Christina and Bette reuniting in the immortal life will change our kind for the better”
“How do you know this Carmen?”
“Because I have seen the future. I didn’t quite know what I was seeing at the time. But it’s clear to me now. My mother had passed her psychic and channeling abilities to me at birth and when I was embraced they were enhanced and I started seeing visions of these two figures..One shrouded in light and the other shrouded in darkness merging together to form a very powerful commanding union spreading love and harmony between all immortals and mortals. We walked in the daylight Kit. Our curse of staying hidden in the darkness was lifted and we no longer needed blood to survive. The light cured us of the need to kill but could not reverse our immortality.” she pauses closing her eyes remembering the vision “I couldn’t quite figure out what I was seeing before…But now I feel it’s a glimpse of the prophecy. The fact that the figures do not have faces in my visions is because the prophecy needs to be fulfilled by Bette embracing Christina…..the dark embracing the light”
Kit shook her head in disbelief “How long you have you been having these visions?”
“For over 200 hundred years. The first one came to me shortly after I was embraced” Carmen sighed “I just feel I am supposed to help make this happen. That it’s my purpose”

I agree with Billy….. why is wrong with Tina? Why is she sweating and running a fever? She slept all day and did not realize it until she woke up? That means her internal clock is not working properly. That only happens when for most people they have been under the influence of an anesthetic or strong sleep inducing drugs.
Carmen’s sudden alliance with Kit is surprising. She seems to have a lot of unique skills that the others do not have. Being a vampire and a metamorphite is truly advantageous. Can she be trusted? Helena was able to detect Kit’ meeting with Bette, will she be able to detect Carmen’s meeting with Bette as well? Is this a trap for Bette?
Now Bette is a vampire and a shape changer with extraordinary strength. What else can she do which we do not know about.
I am a little concerned for Tina. She needs to be embraced which I take to mean she needs to become a vampire as well. Perhaps this illness is the impetus which will propel her to that decision. If she is sick and near death, she may readily consent to being embraced to be immortal and Bette’s partner. That is merely a guess…

I was wondering if she was accidentally infected, since one of Bette’s fangs grazed her. If Bette doesn’t turn her she will die. I obviously watched too many vampire movies. Enjoying your story.

I hope Tina doesn’t need to be turned. In fact I hope that somehow all the mystic stuff will help Bette to change herself back. Maybe it is the process of regaining more of the memory of the previous Tina that makes her body ill or weak.
Not sure if Carmen can be trusted and if Kit will be strong enough to withstand Helena.
