Helena brings her left hand to her chin and slightly taps her fingers against her lips
“That’s the most ludicrous idea I have ever heard …Yet also the most ingenious…The question now remains how do we find that very sword”
“We may not need the sword Madam Helena.” Marina answers “Bette will lead us to Ambrogio. She now possesses his pure blood. If he is alive she will sense him”
Carmen quickly glances at Kit who remains expressionless then reverts her gaze back to Helena.
“We cannot alert ourselves to Bette. We do not know what powers she now possesses. It’s too risky..The best plan at this time is to find the sword” Carmen reasons as Marina nods
Helena thinks for a moment and finally nods “Alright..Marina and Carmen…You will set out to find the sword. Even if it has since been melted down into something else entirely. Once you locate it Carmen should still be able to channel the element’s history”
Carmen nods confidently as Helena turns her attention to Jodi
“Jodi..If Bette is not actively protecting her person then she has placed a protection upon her by some trinket. I want you to find out what that is. Be mindful and do not approach her directly”
Jodi nods “Yes Madam Helena”
Helena turns to Kit “And Kit…Once Jodi discovers what protection your sister has placed upon her mortal lover I want you to destroy it”
“And how would I ever go about doing that?” Kit asked perplexed
Helena walks over to Kit and grazes her long fingernail of her right index finger slowly down Kit’s cheek “Every protection placed upon an object has a weakness. It’s up to you to find out what that weakness is”. she pauses as she drags her fingernail down Kit’s neck and stops over her heart ”… I know you have seen your traitorous sister. Did you not think I could not smell her upon your cloak when you returned the other night..I should kill you now….But….. I’m feeling rather lenient considering the whole vampire colony is in danger so I’m giving you a chance to prove your loyalty to me or I end the immortal life I so generously gave you” she pauses looking intently into Kit’s eyes who is avoiding her stare “….So Kit?….What shall it be?”

I agree with Billy….. why is wrong with Tina? Why is she sweating and running a fever? She slept all day and did not realize it until she woke up? That means her internal clock is not working properly. That only happens when for most people they have been under the influence of an anesthetic or strong sleep inducing drugs.
Carmen’s sudden alliance with Kit is surprising. She seems to have a lot of unique skills that the others do not have. Being a vampire and a metamorphite is truly advantageous. Can she be trusted? Helena was able to detect Kit’ meeting with Bette, will she be able to detect Carmen’s meeting with Bette as well? Is this a trap for Bette?
Now Bette is a vampire and a shape changer with extraordinary strength. What else can she do which we do not know about.
I am a little concerned for Tina. She needs to be embraced which I take to mean she needs to become a vampire as well. Perhaps this illness is the impetus which will propel her to that decision. If she is sick and near death, she may readily consent to being embraced to be immortal and Bette’s partner. That is merely a guess…

I was wondering if she was accidentally infected, since one of Bette’s fangs grazed her. If Bette doesn’t turn her she will die. I obviously watched too many vampire movies. Enjoying your story.

I hope Tina doesn’t need to be turned. In fact I hope that somehow all the mystic stuff will help Bette to change herself back. Maybe it is the process of regaining more of the memory of the previous Tina that makes her body ill or weak.
Not sure if Carmen can be trusted and if Kit will be strong enough to withstand Helena.
