    (Bette, speaking softly) I’m struggling again with this no touching rule of ours Tina smiles and looks over at her, raising an eyebrow upon seeing the desire in Bette’s eyes. (Tina) Yes, well, you need to stop looking at me like that if we’re going to get through this without breaking it (Bette) Hmmm, don’t

    (Bette, speaking softly) I’m struggling again with this no touching rule of ours

    Tina smiles and looks over at her, raising an eyebrow upon seeing the desire in Bette’s eyes.

    (Tina) Yes, well, you need to stop looking at me like that if we’re going to get through this without breaking it

    (Bette) Hmmm, don’t play innocent, you knew what you were doing when you wore that dress

    Tina smiles.

    (Tina) And how’s it all going?

    (Bette sighs) I don’t know. These events have all blurred together for me by now

    (Tina smiles) Well you wouldn’t know it. You’re doing great.

    (Bette) Thank you. Are you staying much longer?

    (Tina) No, I’ll go shortly. You’ve got hours ahead of you I assume

    Bette nods

    Bette’s name is called out by an enthusiastic woman across the room who waves her over. Bette sighs.

    (Bette) Well, duty calls.

    She looks at Tina and gives her a soft smile.

    (Bette) I’ll see you later on

    (Tina smiles) OK

    Bette goes to leave and glances over her shoulder as she walks away

    (Bette) And make sure to wear that dress again on a night where our rules don’t apply

    They smile at each other as Bette walks away.

     

    Later, Tina’s apartment, Bette lets herself in at 1am. She notices immediately that the house lights remain on, before hearing movement in the kitchen. She makes her way in and smiles as she sees Tina, still dressed from their evening and standing at the stove stirring a pan with a wooden spoon. Tina turns to her and smiles when she hears her enter.

    (Tina) Hey

    (Bette) Hey

    (Tina) I just got in, I shouted some colleagues to a couple of drinks afterwards. And then I realised I hadn’t eaten a thing since breakfast, so hence the cooking.

    Bette smiles at her.

    (Bette) You were always a night owl

    (Tina smiles) I guess. Do you want any? It’s just noodles and vegetables.

    (Bette) I’m ok, thank you though

    Tina returns to stirring, with her back to Bette, and Bette watches her for a moment. She then approaches, leaning in and kissing Tina’s neck firmly, while running her hands over her hips and dragging her fingernails lightly down her thighs.

    5. I am in hopes that there will come a point when they do not have to hide. They can respond to each other naturally regardless of where they are. I want them to go to social events as a couple, to introduce themselves as a couple and to begin to shape a life together… its what they both want. That is indicated by the exchange of keys. Your not out shopping when your current lover could drop in at anytime without notice…. This is a huge step in that the no strings arrangement, now has a very big connection. So these two are into a new set of rules and expectations.

      I love how Bette and Tina always ask before they proceed. Tina granted Bette every night, any night access to her. These two are a couple, an exclusive couple… just not public.

      Excellent story… thank you. Keep writing when you can.
