“Lawrence…Are you kidding?…Of course I will” Bette said excitedly knowing she would be able to see Emma often “So when would I need to move to LA?”

“Well. They want you to start going over the infrastructure this semester” Lawrence answered rubbing the back of his neck

Bette looks at Lawrence pointedly “How soon Lawrence?”

“A month”

Bette closes her eyes and throws her head back

“A month. I have a month to move?”

Lawrence nods

Bette sighs “Alright. I guess I have some packing to do”

Lawrence gets up from the chair “We’ll meet later and go over the contracts ok” he says and turns to walk out but Bette stops him

“Hey Lawrence?”

“Yes” he answers turning around

“Thanks”

He winks at her and turns walking out of her office

“Wait till I tell Emma this news” she mumbles as she turns to her computer and checks her email

California University

Emma and Taylor grabbed seats next to each in the auditorium. Taylor looks around and leans over to Emma who had her head in her textbook

“There aren’t many students in here” she says as Emma looks away from her textbook to look around

“I didn’t think this class would be too popular. Besides it’s for Art majors anyway” she says and sees Tina walk in through the side door and make her way to the podium. She sets her briefcase and laptop down on the table beside it and pulls out a list from her briefcase.

Tina slips her glasses on and clears her throat

“Good morning” she says and hears mumbling in return. She chuckles under her breath at the zombie like nature of her students in the mornings “This is Intro to Art. And I’m Ms. Tina Kennard your instructor. I’m also Head of the Art Department. You can find the syllabus for this class on my portal. I will go over that once I go over the enrollment list. Attendance is mandatory so I will be calling roll each day class meets.  Any questions?”

Tina looks around the room and no hands are raised and proceeds to call roll. She gets to H and calls Taylor’s name.

“Taylor Huntington” she says looking up and sees a hand raised and nods and continues to the next name

Emma leans over to Taylor “I feel like I’m in high school again” she chuckles

Tina gets to the letter P and as she was about to call the next name she pauses briefly when she sees the name Porter, Emma.  She wondered if it was the same Emma Porter Kit talked about. It was too coincidental if it wasn’t

“Emma Porter” she calls out and sees a hand go up. She looks at the girl’s face for a moment and still wasn’t sure if it was the same girl in the picture. She nods at her and continues on to the next name.

Taylor leans over and whispers. “Why did she stare at you like that?”

Emma shrugged not really knowing why as she watched Tina put away the roll sheet and turn on her laptop to bring up the syllabus
