    Taylor finally gets up and stretches. She manages to open one eye to grab her own shower caddy making sure her room key was in the side pocket.     Bette was sitting at her desk looking out at the New York skyline from her office when she heard a tap sound on her open door..  She turned to see her boss standing in the doorway

    “Well did you get Emma all settled at California U?” He asks as he brings himself into her office and sits down in the chair in front of desk

    Bette nodded “Yeah. It’s only been two days but I miss her like crazy” she says giving a small smile.

    Lawrence clears his throat

    “Well maybe you don’t have to?”

    Bette looks at him inquisitively “What do you mean Lawrence?”

    “Well you know your network program we have been trying to sell to the national universities and colleges” Lawrence replies

    “Of course I do.  I put my blood, sweat, and tears into that project”

    “Well we just contracted with California University for implementation of LPAK as their new networking system and we want to send you to oversee and implement it since it was your project to begin with” Lawrence explained as he watched Bette shaking her head in disbelief

    “Wait..Wait..Wait..You mean to tell me that California University has bought my network software?”

    Lawrence nods “As well as Concord University and New Heights College”

    Bette felt like she was going to faint. Lawrence chuckled at her expression

    “So Bette we will pay your expenses to move you out to LA and you oversee the implementation, installation, and maintenance of LPAK.  The contract is for 5 years. You will work directly with the IT department at California U”

    “5 years?  You would want me to stay the entire contract period?”

    Lawrence nods. “Bette you are the best network engineer we have and LPAK is your design. It just so happens California U contracted with us. And with Emma there now I felt it was a no brainer to send you” he says then pauses for a moment “Unless you don’t want to”

    1. WhooHoo! Bette thinks she’s going to LA to be close to Emma, but she’s fixin’ to get RE-introduced to Kit and introduced to a screaming gorgeous Professor!!!

    3. Small world…. so many connections and they are all through Emma Porter. Its going to be an exciting college life for Emma. Hopefully some of the other problems will work out as well. Bette has no significant other… Tina has no significant other and Kit was just trying to do the right thing. Of course its a bit harsh to threaten to take a child away to get her back into Emma’s life.

      Now that Bette is going to move to the west coast, things should really get interesting.

      Liking this story a lot… thank you for this new chapter… cannot wait to see more..

    4. Love this story!

      Bette moving to LA, Emma, Tina and Kit already linked to each other.

      What Kit did was not the way to get Bette out of her grieve for her long term partner, she was threatening to take Emma from her and already had hired a lawyer, i can imagine that Bette was mad as hell and cut Kit out of their lives. The intention of Kit to pull Bette up was good but not the way she went through it. I would have cut her off to.

      Interesting story!
