”Funny you should ask that. I’m ready to retain one. I mean when I get enough money. I gave up my life pretty much for her” Bette said sadly but felt more embarrassed than anything.

”I’m licensed here and in New York to practice law. They call me Double Trouble because I can wreak havoc in two states” The woman stated as she pulled a business card out from her briefcase and handed it to Bette. ”I’m Tina Kennard and if you would allow me the opportunity to represent you I will do it pro bono”

Bette took the card from Tina and looked at her with her mouth agape

”Oh no Ms.Kennard ..I couldn’t let you do that. It wouldn’t- ” Bette replied as Tina motioned for her to stop talking with her hand,

”First..Please call me Tina. Second..You told me you gave up your life for her which already tells me she was the sole bread winner in the relationship. You invested ten years while her income grew I assume and you need a return on your investment. Give my office a call and set up an appointment to see me. If you decide to go through with this please bring any financial information for the ten years you two were together when we meet” Tina said finishing her drink, setting money on the counter, and getting up from the bar.

She walked over to Bette and extended her hand

”I don’t believe I got your name” Tina asked shaking Bette’s hand and pulling away

”Uhmm? Bette. Uhmm? Bette Porter” Bette stammered out in shock that Tina just slipped a hundred dollar bill to her as they shook hands.

”Well Bette Porter. It was nice to meet you and I hope you allow me to represent you. You have a good evening” Tina said as she turned to walk toward the exit.

”Thank You Tina!” Bette yelled out earning a wave from Tina as she walked out of the Planet.

Bette looked at the hundred dollar bill and shook her head.

”Wow” she mumbled as she stuck it in her tip jar and went to help another customer.

Tina hurried to her vehicle and got in throwing her briefcase in the passenger seat. She took a deep breath letting it out slowly.
