    Dear Diary—Chapter 1

If Bette were ever with me I would never hurt or cheat on her. I would treat her like a queen. She deserves that and so much more. If I ever got the chance I would do just that. And if I don’t and someone else hurts her I would take care of her and protect her. That is if she knew I even existed. Maybe one day she and I can become friends at least and I can do just that.

Well Diary, I hear Mom calling me to dinner. Thanks for letting me vent. I’m sure I’ll have more later.

Bette rested her head back against the headboard and sighed. She had never had anyone show feelings like this for her before. Written, verbal, or otherwise.  Looking back at her and Wendy’s relationship she could see now it was more physical on Wendy’s part than based on a deep love. Wendy loved with her body while Bette loved with her heart and she wanted to be loved the way the author wanted to love her.

Bette sighed and turned to the next entry in the diary.

    Dear Diary,

I’m smiling so big right now. I left a a single red rose on Bette’s desk in History class this morning because I wanted to cheer her up and let her know that there were other’s namely me that admired her. Of course no one saw me put it on her desk because I’m invisible remember. Anyway, she walks in goes and walks up to her desk in front of me and gasps when she sees the rose. I’m smiling on the inside. She picks it up, twirls it around in her fingers, sniffs it and smiles. She looks around to see if she could find the guilty party but again she doesn’t look at me. I didn’t expect her too.

Oh I guess I left the part out where I attached a note to it. She took the rubber band off and unrolled the note. I wrote ”You are the girl of my dreams”. She smiled when she read it and boy did her eyes go scanning around the room after that. Of course she looked everywhere but at me but she sat down with a huge smile on her face and that was enough for me. I made her smile and that’s all I wanted.
