She was about to get up when Bette gripped her wrist lightly and made her sit back down.
Shaking her head a little to rid herself of the slight ringing in her ear, Bette rubbed her cheek slowly pretending to readjust her bottom jaw by moving it side to side a couple of times.
“Please don’t… I deserved it!”
“Pardon?”
“I deserved it,” Bette reiterated, “I have behaved like an idiot.”
Tina blinked a couple of times trying to make sense of the financiers’ words.
“Do you know what? You have a serious hook.” Bette added with smiling eyes, “Have you boxed before?”
“It’s… it’s the first time in my entire life that I hit someone.” Tina admitted sheepishly.
“I’m happy to be your first victim.” Bette confessed releasing Tina’s wrist as the blonde settled herself back into her seat. “I thought it wasn’t in your nature to be jealous. There’s no reason to be really. When I used the word ‘distraction’, it really was because it was all Candace and Kelly were. It didn’t go anywhere…”
“What did you mean?”
“I didn’t sleep with either of them. I didn’t want to.”
Somehow Tina felt a wave of relief submerge her.
“I thought…” Bette paused choosing her words carefully, “That I would be able to forget you… but as it turns out it is impossible. I understood when I saw your face when you met Kelly this other day. I wanted to make you jealous so you would understand how much you wanted me. I wanted you to feel what I was feeling.”
Tina swallowed thickly. She had tried to forget the financier but with all the will in the world she knew now she had failed miserably.
Bette reached over once more and took Tina’s hand gently in hers. Her thumb started to run lazy circle over her knuckles.
“I did not foresee any of this,” Bette reprised in a raspy voice, “When you landed on my door step at the chalet, I truly wanted rid of you. I had known too many ‘rich girls’ to know what I was letting myself in for.”
“I know. You don’t really need to remind me.” Tina said saddened by the memory.
Bette lifted her eyes and smiled tenderly.

Thanks for giving us this wonderful story! I like how Bette finally dropps her slightly arrogant behaviour and sacastic remarks and finally confesses her feelings to Tina. Although she already kind of did that at the end of chap. 8, didn’t she? I love the elevator scene when Bette whispers “I cannot forget” to Tina. :-)
I’m a little sad that FB has come to an end but I’m happy to read that you already work on new stories. I think you are a very talented writer and I enjoy your stories immensely.

Tina was going to rebel and tell Bette where to go.Loved the slap.Bette was so arrogant at times.So full of herself..but in the end she managed to sweet talk Tina
and profess her true feelings for her.

I’m really sad to see this end, this was a portrayal of Bette and Tina that always had us wanting more. A pity we didn’t get to see more of their life together. Maybe we could have a few snippets of their life, before and after their marriage and pregnancy? Here’s to hoping! And even if that’s not possible, I’m glad to know you have other stories in the works! I’ll read anything you write. :)

I loved every bit of this story! Beautifully written with such an amazing storyline. I had a feeling there was a connection between Bette and Tina’s father and your story was brilliant in how it came together. I love how he knew there was something between even though he didn’t say and how persistent Bette was. Absolutely brilliant! And the ending perfect!
