Tina’s gaze was now downcast.
“Oh come on!” Bette cried rubbing a nervous hand over her face in frustration. “Why are you doing this?”
“I’m not doing anything Bette. I’m a realist. For you, sleeping together had no chance of a tomorrow.”
“You don’t know what you are talking about. You have no idea what I went through.” Bette tried to justify.
“Oh believe me when I tell you I can very well imagine what you went through. Sleepless nights trying to work out the best way to get me into bed. Working out strategies to get me to change my mind.” Tina bit back.
“Stop it!”
“Why?”
Tina knew she had overdone it but she couldn’t stop herself from talking, scared as she was that if she didn’t, she was going to burst into tears instead.
“Get to the point, Bette. I’m not stupid. I know what you are after. In actual fact since you insist… let’s go…”
The blonde grabbed a fist full of her blouse, pulling it free from her waist.
“Tina, don’t do that!”
Bette’s voice echoed so loudly through the room that Tina stopped dead. Tears stung her eyes but she willed them back worried as she was to appear weak.
The brunette rose to her feet and walked slowly over to her.
“Please, don’t do that.” Bette pleaded softly nearing the blonde.
“Is that not what you want?” Tina asked in a strangled sob. “What both of us want?”
“Not like that.”
Bette caressed slowly up one of Tina’s arm and with the index finger of her other hand slowly lifted Tina’s face to look at her.
“Don’t cry please,” she whispered.
Tina felt herself be surrounded by two strong arms. She lay her head against the brunette’s chest and was surprised to hear how fast the other woman’s heart was beating.
“I’m not crying,” The muffled sobbing came out.
“It’s true, you nearly aren’t…. and it’s my fault. I was so blind.”
“Don’t say that.” Tina said softly.
The decorator did not want to listen to anything anymore. She just wanted to stay where she was, nestled against Bette’s chest hoping for time to stop.
“I have never wanted to make you suffer,” Bette finally spoke a few seconds later, “Truth is, I was so scared of my own feelings. I’m used to being in control and all of a sudden everything was escaping my grasp. But you are right, I had a reason to see you again and to be honest if I hadn’t I would have found one… Since the day you left the chalet I know I cannot live without you.”

Thanks for giving us this wonderful story! I like how Bette finally dropps her slightly arrogant behaviour and sacastic remarks and finally confesses her feelings to Tina. Although she already kind of did that at the end of chap. 8, didn’t she? I love the elevator scene when Bette whispers “I cannot forget” to Tina. :-)
I’m a little sad that FB has come to an end but I’m happy to read that you already work on new stories. I think you are a very talented writer and I enjoy your stories immensely.

Tina was going to rebel and tell Bette where to go.Loved the slap.Bette was so arrogant at times.So full of herself..but in the end she managed to sweet talk Tina
and profess her true feelings for her.

I’m really sad to see this end, this was a portrayal of Bette and Tina that always had us wanting more. A pity we didn’t get to see more of their life together. Maybe we could have a few snippets of their life, before and after their marriage and pregnancy? Here’s to hoping! And even if that’s not possible, I’m glad to know you have other stories in the works! I’ll read anything you write. :)

I loved every bit of this story! Beautifully written with such an amazing storyline. I had a feeling there was a connection between Bette and Tina’s father and your story was brilliant in how it came together. I love how he knew there was something between even though he didn’t say and how persistent Bette was. Absolutely brilliant! And the ending perfect!
