“But then I learnt who you were. Your father had already talked to me about you. He is so proud of you, you know. Even if he wished at the time you could do more with your life.”
“Thanks. I don’t need reminded of that either.”
“What I’m trying to say, it’s as if destiny had brought you to me. Your father certainly had hinted at it years ago…” Bette smiled at the memory when the old man, weary of Tina’s poor choice in boyfriends, had suggested Bette took the blonde out on a date to see where it could lead. Never had she been in a situation like that particular discussion she had had with John Kennard that evening. Bette to this day, truly did not know of the old man had been serious about a rapprochement between Tina and her.
“You know the rest.” Bette sighed and locked eyes with Tina. “What I did not bank on however is that this time with you there was something different. Things with you were… are different. Do you understand what I want to say?”
“Loud and clear.” Tina said withdrawing her hand and getting to her feet.
She headed for the tall window, opening the heavy curtains to take a brief look outside before letting them fall back. She turned around and leaned against the soft fabric.
“I imposed on you, invaded your privacy, and invaded your life and even your bed.” Tina’s words were firm and to the point. For a moment, Bette’s heartfelt words had stirred something inside the blonde but she was determined to not let the beautiful woman get under her skin this time.
“I thought maybe I had a little to do with that too.” Bette exclaimed.
“Oh come on… How could you refuse such an easy lay?” Tina remarked with a little disillusioned chuckle. She shrugged determined to end this sordid affair between the two of them and to quieten those romantic notions she had nearly entertained only a split second ago.
“So what is this thing,., that is sooo different between you and me?” She couldn’t help but lace her words with sarcasm.
“The chance to turn a one night stand into a hot affair. You needed an interior decorator for your new house and hey presto you had one- literally – at hand?”

Thanks for giving us this wonderful story! I like how Bette finally dropps her slightly arrogant behaviour and sacastic remarks and finally confesses her feelings to Tina. Although she already kind of did that at the end of chap. 8, didn’t she? I love the elevator scene when Bette whispers “I cannot forget” to Tina. :-)
I’m a little sad that FB has come to an end but I’m happy to read that you already work on new stories. I think you are a very talented writer and I enjoy your stories immensely.

Tina was going to rebel and tell Bette where to go.Loved the slap.Bette was so arrogant at times.So full of herself..but in the end she managed to sweet talk Tina
and profess her true feelings for her.

I’m really sad to see this end, this was a portrayal of Bette and Tina that always had us wanting more. A pity we didn’t get to see more of their life together. Maybe we could have a few snippets of their life, before and after their marriage and pregnancy? Here’s to hoping! And even if that’s not possible, I’m glad to know you have other stories in the works! I’ll read anything you write. :)

I loved every bit of this story! Beautifully written with such an amazing storyline. I had a feeling there was a connection between Bette and Tina’s father and your story was brilliant in how it came together. I love how he knew there was something between even though he didn’t say and how persistent Bette was. Absolutely brilliant! And the ending perfect!
