    “It was unfortunate but it wasn’t your fault Bette.  You are the best in the business and that’s why we wanted you to join us. Anyway, we did get confirmation he was hit but we lost his trail. Gio has not been able to track him down .  Rocco is powerful and locating him has been like finding a needle in a haystack. But you mention this red haired woman. I recall when we were doing surveillance in San Francisco there was a red haired woman that frequented his establishment. I don’t recall her name but…”

    “Wait…” Alexis pulls out her laptop, turns it on, and plugs in her usb drive “…I still have the files of all of Rocco’s associates stored on my usb”

    Bette begins to fidget

    “What does this have to do with me seeing Tina last night. It was just a random freak occurrence and I am sure I will never see her again.  I am sure she never wants to see me again anyway so it’s for the best. I’ll move on.  I did before. I can again”

    “Bette. Stop lying to yourself.  You haven’t moved on and you certainly haven’t been with anyone since Tina and I doubt you ever will. Lord knows I tried to seduce you multiple times to no avail” Alexis smirks at Bette and her fingers begins to type on keyboard

    “I’m sitting right here you know” Tony chimes in jokingly

    “Aww baby you know that was before I got with you.  I simply couldn’t resist your big beautiful manly..”

    “For the love of everything that’s Holy” Cyrus squeals in horror putting his hands over his ears “I do not want to hear this!”

    Bette manages to give a slight chuckle

    “Ah ha!…There she is….Is this who you saw?” Alexis whips the laptop around and hands it to Bette who gasps upon seeing the picture on the profile.

    “That’s her” Bette reads the name on the profile “Jasmine Sinclair.” Bette says in exasperation trying to figure out in her mind what it means. Trying to fit everything together like puzzle pieces.

    3. I LOVE this story! So glad to see it’s back. Looking forward to reading more, and seeing how it all unfolds.

      The scene when Bette says goodbye to Tina in the hospital, just leaves me in tears.

    4. Perhaps, I do not remember correctly… but you have already change the trajectory of this story. In this story, Tina is a part of the Rocco group out to get Bette, where in the previous one, she was simply a pawn being moved around to trap Bette. She is now under the impression that Bette tried to kill her, where before, she simply deserted her in her hour of need.

      This is an interesting beginning…. can’t wait to see where this goes… Thanks for the re-write… looking forward to the continuation of this story…..
