Tina turns and smiles at Bette. “Have a good day….”

“You too…. I mean as good of a day as you can have heading into the clutches of Hollywood…”

Tina laughs and playfully narrows her eyes at Bette as she points at her. “I know for a fact, a very prominent actress acquired a pretty significant piece of art from you, Bette Porter….”

Bette smirks and shrugs. “Yes, and she was charming and nice…. I can handle business and still dislike the inner workings of her profession…”

“Uh huh….” Tina says with a chuckle. “See ya…” She says as she slides behind the wheel…”

Bette gently closes Tina’s door and watches her pull away before she turns and walks to her car….

The Planet….

The following night, Alice is dancing in her seat to the thumping, up-tempo music; she looks across the table at a distracted Dana, who is focused on her phone.

“You asked me out to have pre-birthday drinks, and all you’ve done is play with your phone all night…. you can’t go a few hours without talking nasty to your woman, Fairbanks?”

Dana taps away on her phone, then looks up at Alice. “Huh?”

Alice continues to dance. “I said—forget it, just tell me about this secret place you guys are taking me that requires this awesome 80s cosplay?”

Dana looks up and smiles sheepishly. “Uh, you know I can’t tell you anything. It’s a surprise….”

“I know, but I’m too excited…” Alice says as her seated dancing intensifies. She then stops and watches Dana continue frantic texting as her brows crumple with worry. “Alright, seriously. What the hell’s going on, Dane?”

Dana looks up and shakes her head. “What? No…nothing….”

“Bullshit….” She then leans over and tries to look at Dana’s phone, but she’s too far away.

Dana receives a text and rubs her face in frustration before she looks at Alice and stands up. “I’ll be right back….” She says as she sits her phone on the table and walks away.

Alice watches Dana walk toward the bathroom. She then looks down at Dana’s phone, still pinging away. She hesitates for a beat before she quickly grabs the phone and smiles. “Oh, they’re all in a group chat about my birthday…I knew it…” She happily says with a smile. She looks up to ensure Dana isn’t coming before she begins to read. “Now let’s see what I can look forward to…” Her smile then fades as she reads.
