I Need My Best Friend – Part 7

‘I’ll talk to Tina about it, okay?’

    ‘Okay.’

Bette turned back to Tina and noticed a tear running down her cheek, she new what she was thinking.  As Bette wiped the tear away she said, ‘T, do you think that’s what our little guy would have looked like?’

Tina just nodded and held onto to Bette’s hand for a moment.  She turned toward her office and said, ‘my things are in here.’

While Tina spoke to Oscar about a few last minute items Bette took her bag to the car.

As they headed for the airport Bette said, ‘what would you think about bringing the kids to the CAC?  If we did it in small groups I think I could arrange it, maybe even have a little exhibit of their pictures.  What do you think?’

‘I’m sure they would love it.  Are you sure it wouldn’t be too much trouble?’

‘I’m sure.  I’ll put something together and we can talk about it when you get back.’

    ‘Thanks.’

Bette took the envelope from her bag and handed it to Tina.

‘I’d like for you to wait until you’re in your room to read it.’

    ‘All right, what is it?’

‘I was thinking of you last night, that I’ll miss you this week, and just wanted to tell you about it.  I know you still have doubts and I wanted to do something that might ease some of the doubt you feel.’

    ‘Okay, I’ll wait.’

‘Will you still call me tonight?  After you read the letter?’

‘Of course, what time will you be home?’

‘I’m not going back to work so I’ll be home all evening.’

‘Why don’t you call Alice and see if the two of you can have dinner?  I hate that you’re spending so much time alone.’

‘I was going to wait until after my session with Foxworthy tomorrow to call her.  I have a few things I need to talk about first.’

    ‘How about Kit?’

‘I’d rather just go home.  I need to catch up on some reading.  I’ll call Alice and arrange something, I promise.’

‘It will probably be between nine and ten when I call.’

She put the letter in her bag and took out a copy of her itinerary and placed it on the console.

    1. This was absolutely brilliant! Love the letter and the conversation between Bette and Tina..so loving, so tender, so honest..keep ’em coming please..and thanks for this!

    2. wow, they’re quite level headed on handling themselves. Yeah, I think reviving the old habbits that keeps the fire in relationship is surely a place to start. Your series doesn’t lack drama but it’s still so real. sometimes life is dramatic enough without any attempts to make it dramatic.

    3. What a wonderful story. It brought me to tears. You have a wonderful gift. Please continue to share your beautiful story with us. I am looking forward.

    4. Just read this installment, and it was fantastic. Thanks for letting Tina tell Bette that she has forgiven her, it meant so much for Bette to hear that. Can’t wait for the next chapter. Thanks

    5. I really enjoy it, I could feel Bette dispair when Tina finally called, all of it was really sweet. and Girl…. it’s been a week pleaseeeeeeeeee update :D
